Police yesterday said that there was no third party involved in the death of a man and a woman inside a Cebu City motel on Saturday.
Cebu City Police Chief Patrocinio Comendador Jr. said no witnesses had come forward to say that another person was involved in the deaths of Gerard Espinosa, 32, and Gaye Muriel Del Rosario, 30.
Both were found dead with gunshot wounds inside Room 551 of Prince Court Motel in barangay Mabolo.
Del Rosario was shot in the chest and head. Espinosa had a gunshot wound in the head.
Police said it was likely that Espinosa shot Del Rosario after learning that she planned to end their relationship.
Homicide investigator Michael Coadasti said that Del Rosario was a lead singer of a local band.
Yesterday, Espinosa's relatives visited the police station to inquire about the incident. They refused to comment on the shooting.
