Cebu City Medical Center Wants Japan Financial Grant
« on: February 13, 2011, 08:50:07 AM »
The Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) is seeking a US$ 10-million grant from the Japan International Cooperating Agency (JICA) to improve the delivery of health services in the city.

CCMC chief Dr. Eduardo Sedoripa said they are proposing to use the fund, which will be at least P430 million, to purchase modern health care equipment and construct a new building for the city-run hospital.

”One of the perennial problems at CCMC is in terms of facility, that’s why we want to enter into a partnership with JICA. If the grant will be approved, it will address a lot of problems in the hospital particularly in terms of infrastructure,” he said.

Sedoripa said they are currently preparing the requirements needed by JICA for the grant which include a report on the current situation of CCMC.

He is also discussing with some members of the council possible areas where the new hospital building will be built once JICA approves the grant.

Sedoripa is asking the city government to prioritize CCMC.

”It’s an urgent matter (that we address the problems of CCMC) because we are dealing with emergencies that are life and death situations. I have committed to improve the facility and I can’t do it without the help of the city,” he said.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said he believes there is still room for improvement at the city hospital.

Dr. Charles Cabatana, CCMC training officer, said that the most common problem at CCMC is the lack of medicines. - pna

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
