Two persons died in a vehicular accident in Antique province's capital town of San Jose de Buenavista late Friday afternoon.
Police said Rommel Magalona was rushing home to join his family in nearby Sibalom town for the New Year’s Eve festivities when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle of a lady in Barangay Atabay in San Jose.
Magalona, described as in his early forties, died instantly.
People who witnessed the accident rushed the lady victim to nearby Angel Salazar Memorial Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
She was heading towards the town proper when the accident occurred.
New Year's Eve was celebrated peacefully in Antique province, particularly in San Jose and Sibalom towns.
