Police detectives scored anew in their campaign against illegal drugs and loose firearms following the arrest of an alleged notorious drug dealer who carries a gun while selling illegal drugs in Barangay Sulivan, Baliuag, BulacanTuesday night.
Chief Inspector Marlon R. Santos, provincial officer of the Bulacan PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Team (CIDT), identified the arrested suspect as Edwin Roque alias “Papuâ€, 31, a member of “Sputnik Gang†and resident of Sitio Dulong Bayan, Barangay Sulivan here.
Santos said Bulacan CIDT operatives led by SP02 Aldam Kulayan, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), conducted a buy bust operation in the area after receiving reports that a notorious drug dealer is openly selling "shabu" in the area while carrying a handgun.
Santos said the CIDT operatives arrested Roque after selling a plastic sachet of shabu worth P2,000 to a poseur buyer.
When frisked, the lawmen recovered a caliber .38 revolver with three live bullets tucked on the suspect’s waist.
Santos said a lady companion of the suspect, identified as a certain Michelle Dionisio, was also brought to the CIDT headquarters in Malolos City for investigation.
Appropriate charges will be filed against the suspect, Santos added.
This was the second time that the Bulacan CIDT arrested a suspected drug pusher with a gun.
Last May 3, Santos said a CIDT team arrested a suspected member of a gun-running syndicate who was also caught with a plastic sachet of shabu during an operation against loose firearms in Barangay Abangan Sur, Marilao town. - pna
