Aside from raiding clandestine fireworks factories and ensuring that manufacturers and dealers are strictly complying with the safety guidelines, the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) on Wednesday started distributing flyers on the safe use of firecrackers in an effort to prevent accidents and fires during the holiday season.
Bulacan police director Sr. Supt. Fernando Villanueva said the Bulacan PNP-Police Community Relations Branch has already distributed the safety tips flyers to the different police stations in the province.
He said the safety tips are timely reminders for revelers on how to stay safe while enjoying the holidays.
Villanueva said most of the flyers will be distributed in towns where fireworks stores are located like Bocaue, Sta. Maria, Baliuag, San Ildefonso and Angat.
He said the Bocaue Police under Supt. Ronaldo de Jesus, the Sta. Maria police station under Supt. Marcos Rivero and the Angat police station headed by Chief Inspector Arwin Tadeo, in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection and local government units, are also conducting mobile public address –an information drive reminding both the public and dealers on the safe use and proper packaging of fireworks. - pna
