Bravo for Justice (BFJ)
« on: November 17, 2010, 05:40:42 PM »
The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) is profiling a group called Bravo for Justice (BFJ), an apparently new organization to which alleged killers of Licab town Vice Mayor Luisito Caraang belonged, a ranking police officer disclosed on Wednesday.

"We can not say right now that the group is an organized crime gang," said NEPPO director Senior Supt. Roberto Aliggayu.

Aliggayu said the name of the organization first cropped up when a neophyte identified as Sonny Pascua of Victoria, Tarlac, told Task Force Caraang that he was being recruited to be its member.

To acquire full-pledged membership, Pascua reportedly told probers that he was tasked to monitor the movement of Caraang and report it to the group before dawn on October 9.

Caraang was killed around 5:10 a.m. that day.

"But he was compartmentalized," Aliggayu said.

This means, according to the police director, that Pascua was blind on the real motive behind his mission.

"All he had to do is to find out if Vice Mayor Caraang was on his daily jogging and report it to (Francisco) Peralta," he said.

Peralta is reportedly called Supremo in BFJ. He is the brother of Ricardo Peralta, the alleged leader of Red Vigilante Group (RVG) that was blamed for over 40 cases of killing suspected illegal drug peddlers in Nueva Ecija, particularly in Gapan City, a few years back.

Their patriarch, Arcadio Peralta, used to lead the communist movement in northern Luzon.

Aliggayu said that based on their investigation, among the members of BFJ were remnants of Alakdan II and Kamagong groups, two of the reported organized gangs allegedly involved in gun for hire and robbery holdup activities.

"But we do not know who the other members of Bravo For Justice are so, we cannot say it's a criminal gang. What we know is that some remnants of Alakdan and Kamagong are also members of this group (BFJ)," Aliggayu said in the vernacular.

He was referring to Peralta, Arturo Bernardino, Virgilio Domingo alias Beo Samiento, Jeremy Itan and Nestor Soriano Jr., who were charged, along with Licab town Councilor Alexander Ventura, for the killing of Caraang. - pna
