Boy pinned to death in Zambo Sibugay amidst inclement weather
ZAMBOANGA CITY, July 2 (PNA) -– A boy was killed when two fruit-bearing trees were uprooted and crashed a nipa hut amidst inclement weather in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Thursday.
Insp. Dahlan Samuddin, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) information officer, identified the victim as Ken Raven Celebrado, six, who died of head injuries.
Samuddin said the incident occurred around 3 p.m. Wednesday at Purok 4, Barangay Maganay, Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Samuddin said Celebrado, a grade one pupil, was asleep when the boy was pinned to death after two star apple trees crashed on top of the nipa hut at the height of heavy rains coupled with strong winds. (PNA)
