Alert police and military bomb disposal experts successfully defused on Thursday morning a homemade bomb found a few meters away in front of an Iglesia Ni Cristo Church along Segundo village in Kabacan, North Cotabato.
Preceding Thursday’s bomb discovery was a blast on Wednesday night planted in front of the Jehovah Witness Church along Matalam St. in same municipality.
No one though was reported injured during the Wednesday night blast.
Lt. Col. Julieto Ando, Army’s 6th Infantry Division spokesman said both bombs were fashioned from an 81 mm mortar explosive.
“Such signature bomb devices are linked to Moro rebels,†he said.
Ando said they earlier received intelligence reports of possible bomb attacks by Moro rebels to ease military operations in Maguindanao against rogue Moro Islamic Liberation Front Commander Amiril Umbra Kato. source: PNA
