TUGUEGARAO CITY, Jan. 5 (PNA) - After the lapse on January 4 of the 15-day deadline imposed on them, the Bed and Breakfast pension house fire investigating panel members have asked the Justice department for a 15-day extension to probe the December 19 tragedy that killed 16 people.
The final investigation report of the panel composed of personnel from the Justice department, the police, and the fire protection bureau should have been submitted on Tuesday, January 4 but the probe has not yet been finished.
Lawyer Emerito Quilang, city prosecutor, told reporters that they have yet to ask five La Salette University Nursing examinees who survived in the fire about their personal experiences and observations that may help in the probe.
The five graduates were asked to attend a meeting with the fact-finding team on December 29 to 30 but they failed to attend for unknown reasons.
As a remedy, the panel members have agreed to visit the survivors in Santiago City as the surviving examinees failed to attend the initial invitation. - pna
