BATANGAS CITY — A Batangas solon has assured his constituents here that the construction of the access road connecting the towns of Bauan and San Pascual to Batangas City is set to begin before the year ends.
Batangas Public Information Office chief Jenelyn A. Aguilera said Friday that 2nd District Representative and House Deputy Speaker Raneo Abu disclosed that the road project’s PHP524-million budget will come from the national government.
Aguilera said assurance for the project was bolstered by the inspection visit of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar last November 20.
She said Abu and 5th District Representative Marvey Marino welcomed Villar during the latter’s visit to San Pascual, Batangas where they plotted the map for the proposed road construction sites and areas covered under the access road project.
She said Villar has instructed project proponents to immediately start the construction of the access road to solve the perennial traffic congestion besetting the highway connecting the three territories.
Abu added that the access road is projected to be passable to motorists and vehicles during its “soft opening” by 2019 and is targeted to be fully completed by 2020. (PNA) NOVEMBER 2017
