BSP HOLDS INFO DRIVE ON AMENDED CENTRAL BANK LAW IN BATANGAS

Press Release:: The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) conducted a briefing on “Republic Act No. 11211, or An Act Amending Republic Act No. 7653, Otherwise Known as the ‘New Central Bank Act’, and for Other Purposes” at the Lima Park Pavilion, Lima Commercial Estate, Lipa-Malvar, Batangas on November 20.

The briefing is part of BSP’s information campaign to foster better appreciation of the Amended BSP Charter among bankers, the media and regional stakeholders.

The resource persons for the briefing are BSP Financial Supervision Sector Managing Director Arifa A. Ala, Office of General Counsel and Legal Services Deputy Director Noel Neil Q. Malimban and Department of Economic Research Senior Economist Sarah Amabelle A. Milla.

According to the BSP, “The Amended Central Bank Law enhances the BSP’s capacity to foster price stability, financial stability and a safe and reliable payments system. Ultimately, the law is aimed at promoting the economic and financial well-being of Filipinos.”

Already conducted earlier this year in Davao and Cebu, the information campaign will also be held in Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo and Baguio.
