The provincial government of Davao Oriental along with all its 10 municipalities and one component city have passed the 2019 Good Financial Housekeeping, affirming these LGUs’ honesty and full transparency in spending and auditing of public funds.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government has released yesterday the official list of passers who have complied with the GFH standards.
Among the criteria for passing the GFH include: Qualified or Unqualified Commission on Audit Opinion for CYs 2017 and 2018, and the compliance with Full Disclosure Policy of Local Budget and Finances, Bids and Public Offerings such as Annual Budget, Statement of Receipts and Expenditures, Annual Procurement Plan or Procurement List, and Bid Results On Civil Works, Goods and Services and Consulting Services, among others.
Governor Nelson Dayanghirang lauded the provincial government offices for their efforts in ensuring transparency, accountability, and excellent performance in governance, especially in utilizing public funds. He also congratulated all component local government units of the province for their performance and for ensuring strict adherence with the guidelines and policies set by the law with regards to the use of public funds.
The Good Financial Housekeeping is one of the seven areas of assessment set by the DILG for LGUs before getting the Seal of Good Local Governance. The Seal is a requirement for LGUs in order to receive grants from national government agencies.
