The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), said that the suspension of the Joanna Jesh two buses routes will be effective today, whose units were involved in a gory accident last Tuesday along EDSA, Quezon City.
LTFRB Chairman Thomas Lantion clarified that the company Joanna Jesh's of the Alabang to Navotas and Alabang to Fairview routes were suspended, and not the bus company's franchise.
“The 30-day suspension orders will be issued to the firm today. I ordered our executive director to furnish a copy of the cease and desist order,†Lantion said.
"We will issue a show-cause order on the bus company," Lantion said adding that they will be allowed to explain their side on the issue.
He also said if the company (Joanna Jesh's) ignores the order, the agency will suspend and then revoked the franchise.
Joanna Jesh officials will also be summoned to appear before an LTFRB hearing on October 28.
Lantion, said the suspension applies to only one of the bus firm's two lines, adding that the bus firm's line that go to Iloilo and Boracay via roll-on/roll-off (RO-RO) vessels can still operate. "Di naman involved yan (It was not involved in Tuesday's mishap)," he said. - PNA
