LUBAO, Pampanga — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the local government unit here on Friday opened the Negosyo Center at the municipal hall compound in Barangay San Nicolas 1st in this town to assist micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Trade and Industry officials led by DTI Region 3 Director Judith Angeles, Pampanga Director Elenita Ordoño, and Pampanga Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council chairperson Teresa Carlos and Vice Mayor Robertito Diaz, led the ceremonial cutting ceremony for the Negosyo Center office.
This is the 11th Negosyo Center opened in Pampanga which aims to promote “ease of doing business and facilitating access to services for MSMEs within its jurisdiction.”
Its services include business registration assistance; business advisory services; business information and advocacy; and monitoring and recommending business-process improvement for MSMEs, among others.
The LGU provided the space where the Negosyo Center will be housed free of charge.
Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, in a statement, said the opening of the Negosyo Center was timely as the LGU was expecting business owners to renew or apply for new business permits at the start of the fiscal year 2018.
DTI business name registration is a prerequisite in opening a new business venture.
Cayabyab also said that the opening of the Negosyo Center in this town will provide more convenience to businessmen who usually make a 30-minute travel to the capital City of San Fernando for their business name registration.
“We thank the DTI and the MSMED Council for establishing this Negosyo Center in our town. This is a testament of the government’s effort in empowering small-scale businesses who provide employment to many of our cabalen as well as contribute to government coffers by means of their taxes,” she added.
