11ID welcomes eight Abu Sayyaf surrenderers in Sulu
Joint Task Force Sulu and 11th Infantry Division Commander Maj. Gen. Ignatius Patrimonio welcomed the eight Abu Sayyaf who laid down their arms through the Municipal Task Force in Ending Local Armed Conflict’s efforts in Talipao, Sulu, on March 31, 2022.
Maj. Gen. Patrimonio identified the surrenderers as alias “Tuang”, 71 years old; alias “Isbain”; alias “Asuwad”; alias “Siddik”; alias “Wahab”; alias “Tubah”, 32 years old; alias “Jul”; and, alias “Paddih”, 28 years old. The former bandits,who used to serve under Abu Sayyaf leaders Radullan Sahiron, and Idang Susukan, also turned over six M1 Garand rifles and an M16 rifle.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded 11th Infantry Division and its government peace partners for facilitating the surrender of the Abu Sayyaf bandits. The Army Chief has underscored the importance of the “whole of nation” in solving the root cause of local armed conflicts.
