CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija -- The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said some parts of Nueva Ecija and Aurora provinces will experience an 11-hour power interruption on November 17.

The brownout, scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., will affect parts being serviced by the Nueva Ecija Electric Cooperative Inc. II-Area 2 (NEECO II-Area 2) and Aurora Electric Cooperative (AURELCO).

The coverage areas of NEECO II-Area 2 are the towns of Sta. Rosa, San Leonardo, Penaranda, General Tinio, Palayan City, Laur, Bongabon, Gabaldon, Llanera, General Natividad and Rizal in Nueva Ecija while those of AURELCO are the municipalities of Dingalan, San, Luis, Maria Aurora, Baler and Dipaculao, all in Aurora.

Ernest Lorenz B. Vidal, NGCP-Central Luzon corporate communications and public affairs officer, said the temporary shut-off is for maintenance and corrective works along the Bongabon-San Luis line segment.

Vidal said specific affected areas are determined by the distribution utility.

"NGCP will exert all efforts to restore power earlier, or as scheduled," he said.

Meanwhile, NGCP’s customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for the scheduled interruption. (PNA)
