Signal Corps in the Philippines in 1898
« on: November 19, 2007, 10:11:08 PM »

"Signal Corps laying wire across river south of Fort San Antonio during advance, August 13, 1898."

George Scriven was part of the signal corps at various times during his Army career. Here, the changing role of the signal corps is evident. While they still used signal flags to relay messages, as Scriven describes in his narrative, they were also adopting other modes of communication, such as the telegraph, as is seen in this photo.

From the "Fighting in the Philippines" photo collection by Tennyson F. Neely, Duke University Special Collections.

Romans 10:9
"That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved."
