MANILA, Philippines -- A newborn girl was killed after she was thrown out of a condominium window in Binondo, Manila Tuesday noon, a police official said.
Superintendent Nelson Yabut, Station 11 chief, said bystanders heard a loud thud on the roof of the Goldrich condominium's first floor around noon and were surprised to see a newborn baby girl.
"Nakita sa bubong yung baby, may placenta pa [The baby was seen on the roof and even had placenta," said Yabut in a phone interview.
He said they are still determining which floor the baby was thrown from.
Police suspect the infant’s own mother was responsible for her death and are now questioning condominium residents about whether they saw a pregnant woman in the area.
Bystanders tried to save the baby, rushing her to the Gat Andres Bonifacio, where she was, however, declared dead on arrival.
"The baby died of hematoma, mostly on the left side of her head," said Yabut.(INQUIRER.net)
