LIFE UNDER A BRIDGE in Manila
« on: July 22, 2008, 10:41:20 AM »

A Filipino family living under a bridge is silhouetted in Manila, despite the danger to their lives. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said on July 16 her government has spent P8 billion so far this year to support the poor from surging food and energy prices. The poor comprise a third of the Philippines population of nearly 90 million.

much of the people in the slums are from the provinces. they move to the city thinking that the life there is a lot easier and better. what they dont know is mas makakaon pa ta sa probinsya kay at least makapangayo pa man ta og kamunggay sa silingan. everything in the city cost

Ms Mari was right to say that mas may makaon pa sa probinsya compared sa syudad but the government should look seriously into this matter.

Mas maayo sad ni Bells kay wala nay bayad sa renta sa bay ug kuryente, just kidding but this picture really exist in the city.

Tama jud ka, Mari! Life in the province is far better than in the big city.  You go to a big city like in Manila and you are like in a lion's den!

Pero dire bya sa USA, mas daghan pa ko'ng makitang homeless kay sa ato diha.  We live in a very peaceful and quiet neighborhood with wonderful neighbors.  Sa lain na place, you can live for ages and not know kinsa inyong mga silingan.  But here, when we came to this place, our neighbors welcomed us even if we are "colored".  Yesterday, our neighbor informed us to be careful because there's a homeless living under our little bridge where the creek is.  I haven't checked it out yet because it's at the end of our property but I might check on it tomorrow.  Hadlok pod pero silip lang ko.  Bawal man jud ni kay grabeh man ka cared for ang mga creeks dire so I dunno what should be done.  Basin wa kabalo ang ubang neighbors.

Mao jud bitaw kay dinhi grabeh jud ka protected nila ang creek and river.  In fact, kon ang imong property mo border ug creek, naa kay ginatawag ug riparian water rights.  Ang city gani regularly nila gina clean ang creek and trees edging the creek.  Basta, I will peek on it tomorrow kay mag adto man ko sa silingan mang harvest ug plums.
