We do. It's just that the Networks are more willing to fund the cliched, banal, crap that everyone can relate to rather than taking a risk with those good stories that might not sell as well. That's why I find it great that the digital film boom has empowered indie film makers (with a decent story to tell) to reach a larger audience even with a very low budget.
yeah, I hate cliched stories too you know, and that's why this is my revenge to the society fill with people who makes cliched stories and show it to millions of people ... the shame

Whenever I go to get my kare-kare and dinuguan at my nearby little Filipino store and a turo-turo (fingerpoint
) restaurant, I cringe when I hear their overhead T.V. with all the tear-jerkers going-on.
well salermo of not-in-the-philippines, I assume you are in abroad or somewhere, I just can say this that filipinos of wherever you are, are still in touch of their own heritage (you know, even if they suck), and for that I salute them

although none of these are real nor based from truth to life people, the concept of this is to extract the humor out of a very very sad topic and turn it into a positive thought that anyone could relate and understand

Since I'm feeling nice...
My Zen master says that while good art inspires, great art on the other hand offends. So I'm a bit amused by your attempt to satirize/trivialize serious topics like AIDS, cancer, homosexuality, etc. and it reminds me a lot of The Sarah Silverman Program or It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. However that's where the similarities end. Dialogue is stilted and suffers from unnecessary exposition. Pop-culture references are thrown in with no discernable purpose aside from just being added into the mix. And there seems to be no overarching theme from the few chapters I've read so far, though this isn't that big of a disadvantage if you intended each chapter to be self-contained rather than be part of a coherent whole.
And it goes without saying, if you really believe in your work, edi wag ka masyado mag-paapekto sa iyong mga kritiko. Take whatever you found useful in their criticism and don't take it personally.
