Robber Caught Counting Money Outside Police Station
Here is another candidate for the Dumb Criminals Hall of Shame.
An 18-year-old man is accused of a robbing a woman at gunpoint Wednesday morning before counting the stolen money outside a Chicago police station on the West Side.
Jermaine Howard, of the 4800 block of West Adams Street, was charged with armed robbery with a firearm, a felony, police said this morning.
It goes without saying that Mr. Howard should not have “allegedly†robbed the woman in the first place, but then to count the loot outside of the police station shows that he clearly didn’t know where he was.
As crazy as this story is, I also see a heroic act of human kindness by the young man, Mr. Munchie Wade, who took it upon himself to report the crime to the police. If you read the full story as it was reported in the Chicago Tribune you will see the our hero, Munchie Wade, had to make three different attempts to report the crime and get the Mr. Howard arrested. First Mr. Wade called 911, then he went to the police station, and after he told an officer there, he was referred to tell another officer outside the station. I was not there, but it seems like he should not have had to make that third attempt, but anyway, it looks like justice will be served.
