A team of evaluators from the regional office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) came on June 3-5 to assess Jagna's 28 Day Care Centers (DCCs) and Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) centers for accreditation.
This was in compliance to DSWD Memorandum Circular 12, Series of 2006 mandating the implementation of the Revised Assessment Tool and User's Manual for the Accreditation of Day Care, other ECCD Centers and Service Providers.
It primarily aims to evaluate the extent to which a holistic view of a child development has been translated into learner-centered curriculum that includes health and nutritional needs of the day care pupils aged three years old to four years and 11 months.
The accreditation further assessed the parents' participation and barangay officials' support to the DCC and ECCD programs.
Heading the team of evaluators was Social Welfare Officer IV of DSWD-7 Lourdes Panerio.
Assisting her were Josephine Belotindos and Perla Dy.
Jagna SWO-in charge Marcionila Reyes and her staff facilitated the three-day activity.
The 28 DCCs which went through the evaluation included those in barangays Pagina, Poblacion, Can-upao, Malbog, Larapan, Pangdan, Alejawan, Ipil Tubod Mar, Can-uba, Canjulao, Balili, Odiong, Faraon, Cantagay, Buyog, Cantuyoc, Kinagbaan, Bunga Ilaya, Can-ipol, Boctol, Mayana and Calabacita. - Sunday Post
