By Bohol Sunday PostMayor Exuperio Lloren vowed to continue to recognize the significance of gender equality as fundamental in development initiatives of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Jagna in his presentation of the municipality's Gender and Development (GAD) program during the Women's Month culmination program at the Capt. Goyo Caseñas Audio-Visual Hall on April 1.
"The LGU plays a significant role in addressing the inequalities and in making the situation more equitable by recognizing the active role of women as partners in development and not just mere recipients of development efforts," Mayor Lloren said.
In his last seven years of office, Lloren has significantly and systematically responded and consistently attended to the different specific roles of men and women of Jagna by recognizing and integrating them in participatory decision-making.
