When Jagna Mayor Exuperio Lloren showed up at the launch of the Arabic language classes only proved the local chief executive’s undiscriminating service that reaches the constituents regardless of sectoral affiliation.
Classes in Arabic language with Islamic values was formally launched recently, showing off the classrooms conveniently accommodated at Jagna Central Elementary School (JCES).
The more than a hundred members of the Muslim community clad in their traditional costumes made the opening parade colorful.
During the opening program, Muslim religious leader Imam Ibrahim Abdullah led the invocation, while the Asatidz or Muslim teachers in Madrasah classes were introduced- -Cebu Normal University graduate and Arabic language instructor, Aliakbar Maruhom and Laarni Abbas, also an adequately-trained teacher in Islam values who is officially hired by DepEd.
Another interesting part in the program was the pledge of financial support to make classes sustainable by Mustah Almasri, a Muslim national cum visitor from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) whose wife is a Kaliwat-Jagnaanon and the sister of Municipal Councilor Pacheco Rances.
Officials of DepEd-Division of Bohol, who attended the launching rites included the supervisor of Alternative Learning System (ALS) who also represented Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Elpidio Jala, Generosa Lumayag and Area Coordinator Lilia Cahig.
Maruhom’s demonstration lecture for a 19-pupil class in Arabic language followed the program. The said learners were the actual enrollees of the newly-opened classes is under the direct supervision of the Jagna ALS Coordinator Felipe Tan. (Gregorio A. Tavera - Bohol Sunday Post)
