In an effort to eradicate graft and corruption among government employees and minimize the disadvantages of government bureaucracy, the municipal administration has scheduled a string of seminar-workshops on Republic Act (RA) 9485 or the Anti Red Tape Act of 2007 starting with the first batch of barangay officials on June 17 in Capt. Goyo Casenas Hall.

The rest of the barangays in the 33 barangays of Jagna will have their turn on June 22, June 23 and July 1 in the same venue.

The first group of participants comprised of barangay officials of Looc, Poblacion, Tejero, Canjulao, Can-upao, Pagina and Pangdan- -those in the metro area of the town. They tackled the five-wave enhancement sessions.

Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Reina Quilas and Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) president Andrew Tadena facilitated the moral-formation activity.

In the meantime that Mayor Exuperio Lloren is in Canada for the signing of a sisterhood agreement along with Garcia-Hernandez Mayor Myrna Scheurs and another mayor form Bohol, Vice-Mayor Teofisto Pagar Sr. represents the local government unit of Jagna in extending full support to the capability-building workshop aimed at strengthening barangay governance.

The second batch of participants, who will have their turn on June 22, comprises of barangay officials of Alejawan, Naatang, Tubod Mar, Larapan, Nausok, Bunga Mar and Bunga Ilaya- -most of them are in coastal areas in the western side of the town.

The schedule for the third batch follows on June 23, to be participated in by barangay officials of Cantagay, Ipil, Can-uba, Faraon, Kinagbaan, Cabungaan.

The fourth batch comprises officials from barangays Laca, Balili, Buyog, Tubod Monte, Cantuyoc and Malbog will have their turn on June 30.

The schedule for the last batch will be on July 1, involving the uppermost barangays of Calabacita, Mayana, Lonoy, Odiong, Boctol and Can-ipil.

The good governance workshop focuses on RA 9485 which was signed into law by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on June 2, 2007 aimed at fortifying the government from the evils of fraudulence by unscrupulous people.

The activity serves as prelude to the creation of the barangay Citizen’s Charter (C.C.) as mandated in RA 9485.

In fact, at the end of each seminar, the participants have to come up with the respective citizen’s charters of their barangays. (Gregorio A. Tavera) - Sunday Post

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
