FROM MY FRIENDSTER PROFILE - PARA CONSISTENT

About Me:

I am basically an artistically-inclined person, very appreciative of the simple, but beautiful things in life. I like a bit of fashion (:-), even in my own simple ways (after meeting many people, I have learned that "taste" or "glamor" is not in the price - it's in the poise and bearing, also according to Madonna).

For so many years, I have been involved in endeavors or undertakings for the preservation and promotion of culture and the arts and tourism (probably because of my love for humanities and my ultimate dream of going to Europe, which, up to now, remains an elusive dream). I am equally supportive of / I love organizing writing, speaking, spelling, dancing contests and beauty pageants for young people and I am bent on pursuing this as my personal mission for self-actualization.  I remember before I was a contestant in all those events (winning some, losing some - part of the learning process), but now I have been given the privilege to be a judge... I believe that God has a purpose for everything that happens in our lives.

My 10-year-old daughter AJ Wincielou Johanna "Cielo" (a Grade 5 pupil of Holy Spirit School) shares with my interests in communication arts, social studies, humanities and geography, though she takes after her Papa Jerome for the "love" of mathematics and science.

Most of all, I am very proud of my loving husband Jerome John and my darling daughter Cielo, my most-cherished blessings from God, and for Papa Rep (Derclo Reparato Bongoyan Araoarao, Tagbilaran City and Danao, Panglao, Bohol - former Philippine Banking Corporation employee and mayor of Panglao, Bohol in 1980-1986 who taught us to be honest always in all our dealings with people), Mama Wincie (Wincesa Balatero Espejo Araoarao, Manhattan, New York and Tagbilaran City, Bohol - the very dedicated Physical Education teacher of Bohol National High School and founder of the Bukang Liwayway Dance Troupe whose artistic passion, generosity, and dedication to duty greatly influenced us), my brother Reparato Anthony "Ondoy" (nurse, The Methodist Hospital in Texas, USA)- with Gracelyn Shiela (Gallego - Tubal) and Baby Reese Lauren in Pearland, Texas - and sisters Ann Claire "Bibby" (serving in the United States Army) - with Jabron (M. Young), Jalen Matthew, Jayla Marie and Jordan Michael in Petersburg, Virginia - and Coeli Marie "Chelli" (website designer and artist) -with Seth Vincent and Alex (Ruiz) in Tampa, Florida. I also cherish fond memories of Lola Pining (Josefina Mercader  Balatero) - class valedictorian of St. Joseph College (now Holy Spirit School) in 1938, Lolo Aloy (Hilario Araro Espejo) - former barangay captain of Cogon, Tagbilaran in the late '50s and my younger sister Hannah Gay...

Being brought up in a poor family, Papa Rep, Mama Wincie, my brother Ondoy and my sisters Bibby and Chelli and I believe that money is important, but IT'S NOT EVERYTHING IN LIFE. You cannot buy talent and it's one of the many things that we are so thankful to God for.

Money can't buy happiness. There are other "things," the so-called "intangibles" that matter like spiritual enrichment, love and harmony in the family, respect, the blessings of good health, and true friends.

Also, I believe that one doesn't have to speak Filipino, the national language, to be "patriotic" or "nationalistic," or that "ang mga 'pobre' dili angay nga magpadaug-daug sa mga adunahan"... We all have equal opportunities in life if we just work hard...Anyway, we have different paths to tread...

I hope that people, especially the financially-privileged, will look around, realize and put into practice generosity by sharing their blessings with the less-fortunate...I tell you, there are a lot of things you can do to help the needy...

Since my elementary years, I 've always aspired to travel abroad, see the most spectacular places on earth in my lifetime, but till now, I am still stuck here in Bohol...nevertheless, I am doing my best to make use and share with others what I have...

When I am gone, I wish my loved ones and friends would remember me as the Miss Tagbilaran 1987 who became City Information Officer of Tagbilaran City...

Lastly, I believe that one doesn't have to enter politics / be a politician to be able to help other people. If you want to help, do it whenever you can, whenever you have the chance...

Who I Want to Meet:

I would like to re-connect with my family, relatives - ARAOARAO, ESPEJO, BONGOYAN, and BALATERO clans, friends, former classmates in the elementary (HSS), high school (BNHS) and college, even masteral days (DWC-T); unpretentious and sincere people; TAGBILARANONS, PANGLAOANONS, BOHOLANOS and FILIPINOS who have gone to establish themselves in other provinces in the Philippines and even in foreign soils whose lives serve as inspiration to others. Also, I want to network with individuals and associations or entities sharing with my passion for culture and the arts; young people who have exhibited remarkable talents and boundless potentials who are willing to share interesting insights and could become good role models in our contemporary society because I firmly believe that our young generation needs good role models. I also want to meet my husband's relatives from SIQUIJOR, SIQUIJOR (the GABINS and the JUMAWANS) and those who are now settled in other provinces; and beauty queens as well.

Hi Fiel Angeli,

am impressed of who you are and what made of you... and all that jazz, we can relate much of ourselves.. with a lot of common denominators.   It was through your email listings that I've reconnected with Bohol in every sense of the word and it's a pleasure to be together here at  TB.

I was not lucky then to meet you personally during our last EB at ICM where you were just a stone throw away ( it would have been opportunity to meet an admirable woman as you are... )

Hi, St. Agnes! Bitaw, Els, nice to see you again! You are so charming in your photos, especially in Friendster...

I do miss our AUDIO - Bohol days, working for the association and all that ... For some reasons (BEYOND my control - of the "powers" that be), I have hibernated since August 2005 after the RADIO regional convention in Bohol which was also the end of my 3-year term as president ... I am still doing information dissemination activities, though...

Ayo-ayo pod...

Hello, Mr. Ayag!

Leo P. Udtohan did tell me that you were here in Bohol, at about the same time my husband and I were facilitating the Bohol tour of his relatives from Siquijor and coninciding also the mall tour of the Mutya sa Cogon 2007 candidates at ICM that we were coordinating...

I see that you are one of the respected leaders here at Tubag Bohol. I would have been honored to meet you in person during that occasion...

I learned about this TB through Mike... This time, I am quite "stingy" with my posts here, but I do disseminate whatever info I have through Friendster (1581 contacts), Yahoo (1700+ contacts), and other groups in the internet as well, whenever I can.

I must say that Mike and all others concerned, you included, have done a great deal of work to sustain this group. KUDOS! I hope that this will continue to be a channel through which we can share our ideas for the betterment of the province that we all love...

Greetings to you, Fiel. I would like to thank you for introducing me to Tubag Bohol. The only reason I'm a member is because I recieved emails from you, and one email struck me because it was named 'Bohol'. I clicked it. How is your family? Hope all is well for you.

With warm regards,
Bran

Hi!

I purposely expanded my Yahoo, Friendster, Bolanon.com, Ringo and siquijor.ilovemyprovince.org networks as support campaign for my Panglaonon friend, Anna Maris Arcay Igpit, Miss Bohol Sandugo 2005 and Binibining Pilipinas – World 2006, who represented the Philippines in the Miss World pageant in Warsaw, Poland in September 2006, that’s why I tried as much as I can to reach out to many people through the internet. It was my simple manifestation of support for Maris who I know represented the best of Bohol and the Philippines during that time.

The process of “scavenging,” or to put it lightly, being “resourceful” in gathering e-mail addresses started with going over my collection of business cards of the people I met before I entered the government service and of those people I don’t even know. I require complete names when I save my contacts in Yahoo. As in the case of married women, aside from their middle names, I also asked for their mothers’ maiden names after my Bohol National High School schoolmate Zipporah A. Fortich – Orion, now a nurse in Texas, informed me that she was able to trace her relatives through my mailing list.

Sir Jun, if my memory serves me right, I think I got your name from the Tigum Bol-anon sa Tibuok Kalibutan (TBTK) souvenir program last year. After then-Councilor-now-City Vice-Mayor Jose Antonio Salera Veloso asked me to organize the TBTK Festival Welcome Program, he gave me a copy of the TBTK souvenir program and I copied all the e-mail addresses I came across with which I saved in Yahoo. Then, after the Maris Igpit support campaign followed the Tagbilaran City Fiesta, Sandugo / TBTK and voters’ education info materials for the May 14, 2007 general elections. I think it was from there that Mike saw my contacts whom he eventually invited to Tubag Bohol. (Speaking of Mike Ligalig, Jerome, Cielo and I extend our condolences to the Ligalig Family.)

As I’ve stated beforehand, one doesn’t have to be a politician to help people or make ripples in their respective fields of endeavor (besides, AN HONEST CANDIDATE WILL NOT WIN WITHOUT MONEY as again proven in Monday’s barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections – PATHETIC! Maayo gani kay wa pa ma-"corrupted" ang federated parents-teachers association and alumni officers elections - at least, ang mga pobre nga pareha nako nga wa'y ikapamudmud nga kwarta para ikapalit og buto duna pa'y higayon nga makahatag og "tinuoray o tiunay nga serbisyo") - my challenge is information dissemination in the simple way that I can.

Sir Jun, Bran, Elsie (St. Agnes), and Angie Gulle, thanks for the inspiring messages. I am truly honored.

Fiel

She's my mother. She retired after 26 years of service as Physical Education teacher and Bukang Liwayway Dance Troupe founder (BHS-BPHS-BNHS) in 1989 and is now in Manhattan, New York.

I have always been sentimental about the place. I've lived there since 1970 and I can't imagine leaving the place, although we have already moved into a new and bigger house (at the back of the old house) which has a good view of Tagbilaran Bay. yah, I remember Ms. Fe Garcia from Talibon, the godmother of my brother Ondoy Reparato Anthony, who's now a nurse in Pearland, Texas.

Fiel, I guessed it right that it was through the TBTK Souvenir Program because we had a whole page advertisement for the Boholano Overseas Workers And Community Credit Cooperative ( BOWACCC ).  Am grateful that your resourcefulness led me to this thread....

I have been receiving e-mails from Ma'am Fiel too. If I'm not wrong, she's the City Information Officer who accomodated me well when I was waiting for Mayor Dan Lim. I was a part time Marketing Assistant at Jollibee-ICM that time.

Ma'am Fiel's e-mails are so informative. Thank you so much for sending those mails. Keep it up ma'am! You are a good public servant.

I believe that from the time I've posted this thread up to this very minute, we have known more of ourselves... if you haven't, the Leonard Personality Inventory of Professor Dr. Leonard M S Yong could help you for deeper understanding about yourself.  It is the process of Self-Awareness and enhancing your Emotional Intelligence.

I was born in the land of maranaws, muslims or moros ( because they claimed it is their ancestral land or home) to a Boholano and a Leytena.
I spent secondary school in Davao and worked and got my degree in Manila..
I raised my family in one of the premier cities in the south of Manila where we are right now.
Being a wife, a mother and a person???..... I will finish this later. There are so much things
to talk about and since there are so much things to do now yet also, got to leave this post for a
   moment... bye

Ging :)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
