Today was a decent day, It was my first day of Nuclear Physics Laboratory, where I teach independent of the Professor. It was my first time teaching a course without the professor there, usually he's in his office and comes by to observe the class, but this course is part of my TA-ship, meaning I'm graded according to my ability to convey information. So far its not so bad, the class size isn't that bad, 41 students are in my lab and most of them are either second semester sophomores or juniors.
My first impression of the students is very positive, they're more serious than the students that I taught last semester in Ecology Lab, the students this year are more serious. Due to the shear number of students, I had to arrange them into 10 groups, about 4 students per group.

I just hope that my students remain focused, they all seem like determined students, I'd hate to see any of them fail my course this semester, specially since this course is a 'weeding-out' course. My main goal is to make sure that I have myself available for any of them if they need help with problems in lecture or in my lab.

Our schools here are closed too...

the weather had been crazy since yesterday...

it was 45 yesterday and it went down very dramatically to 3 today...

it rained yesterday and it continued til the temperature dropped then it became a snow...

Today, I went to my college mail box and was excited to see a package from the University of Windsor, received an acceptance letter for admission to the University of Windsor's Schulich School of Medicine for Fall 2008 :)
I was accepted to their 5 year M.D/M.P.H program. What struck me jud was I finished my novena several weeks back and what was included in my petition was to be given acceptance to other medical schools. I cannot explain into words how happy my heart feels right now. Truly, the Lord is Great.  :)

Right now I'm still awake, I want to go to sleep, but I cant. I have 30 more exams to grade, I already graded 10 or so and so far it is such a pain reading my student's handwritings. I was naive enough to allow them to write the answers out or type it up; my luck most of them wrote it out. Hahaha, so now im playing the game of 'guess what this means', LOL.

What made me smile was on one exam paper, one of the students wrote on the back of the 1st page the first sentence of the 'Our Father' asking for guidance in the exam. It filled me with a little warmth reading that. The student got her wishes, she scored above-par. :)

Its 11:11 PM right now and I will probably be awake till 6 or 7 AM. I need to finish this by tomorrow.

Talk about pulling an 'all-nighter' :P

Today was a long day for me. Had classes, but molecular lab took forever to finish; from 12 noon till 5:45 pm. Then as I went to the library to get books, it started to blizzard. I just got back to my dorm after trudging in the snow. More work tonight; reviewing for another set of exams this Friday.

Thank you TB for being here for me to release my anxiety!

Its 5:25 AM.

I'm finished reviewing for this upcoming exam this Friday. I hit the point where I know the subject material like the back of my palm, for the past 2 weeks I've been reviewing for this midterm exam. I am happy, however, that I reviewed for this exam this much because the material covered is extensive. 4 chapters worth of information, ranging from molecular attenuation, Aporepressor activation, transcription complex, CAP-cAMP dimerization complex, ribonucleotidic interactions, elongation theory, etc.

I stayed up for over 9 hours to re-review, and help 2 other people with questions in understanding attenuation complex. I must admit that explaining things to people helps in retaining the information.

I'm running on 4 hours of sleep for the past 2 days. This entire week, I've been having an average of 3-4 hours of sleep.

I can't wait till this Friday; spring break starts and I can finally revert back to my normal sleeping schedule.

Its wierd, tho because one gets used to having only 4 hours of sleep. Or even running on 4 hours of sleep for the past 2 days. Coffee really does wonders, lol.

Other than that, my day wasn't that bad. Can't complain.
