Hi ! a friend just emailed me a link to this site and i'm tickled pink to see that there is a forum where boholanos can gather and hang out. WOW ! You guys have done a wonderful job with this place...wish I discovered this sooner.

About me, I'm a born and bred Boholana currently based here in Houston, Texas. My mom instilled a love for plants in me and I grew up tending to her orchid collection. I love gardening and I collect Roses and other fragrant flowers. Yes, I have a sampaguita growing in my backyard here in Houston ! HA !

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone... its great to have a virtual bohol home. I hate to whine because I know some of our kababayans havent been home in a while, but I just get homesick a lot. Murag wala nalutas ba. hehehee ! yeah...my biggest bill is my phone bill to Mama and Papa.  You guys have such a nice place going here.

I'm glad you guys liked it.  Willmerit, I dont think its a problem when you move kay naa ko nakit-an didto sa Home Depot new tool for digging up trees and bushes nga dili madamage ilang roots. Nagamit nako a few months ago kay ako gibal-hin akong gamay nga apple tree. gipanuhot man siguro ko oi nga gitanum nako sa landong mao to wala mi tubo. hehehe !

NC as in north carolina ? wala ko kibaw unsa zone nimo but when you move, dont forget to check kay naa man daghan breed of roses for different zones. ga huna2x gani ko ron unsaon nako pagdala ug roses para sa akong mama diha sa bohol. para sad naa sha roses ba. try this site www.helpmefind/roses

Bambi..did you know that some of our native roses diha sa ato have one of the best fragrances ? karon pa gyud ko then I remembered when I was young and dagko kaayo among mga rose plants ..kana bitaw light pink then gamay ilang flowers pero daghan ?

Rose, kanang sugar gum paste that's a sugar dough with mixture of gums to make it pliable for modeling shapes.  Have you seen a cake decorated with non-fresh flowers?  That's sugar gum paste.  If you go to the threads of Happy birthday, Mari or the Wedding Anniversary of Lumine and Herman, I posted cake sthere decorated with sugar gum paste flowers which I made. 

Good for you and willmerit na you can grow roses or any plants, for that matter.  Me, the only plant so far na nabuhi nko kanang mga herbs I put by my kitchen window and the chinese bamboo!  Other than that, mamatay jud hehehe.  Wala koy green thumb, as we call it.

nan karon...mao diay na..hehehe ! (sugar gum paste ba) perte kong hiliga mo kaon ana pero wala ko kibaw sa name.

will, dili ko kaayo updated sa news...ang among news gani dire, ako na gi record to watch later kay  lubung tawn ug work. murag minyo nga dili.  ay ...dili nalang ko complain, buotan man kaayo akong palalabs, pero laki gyud..or basin kutihan lang gyud ko kaayo. If mo retire imong bana, ngano balhin man mo indiana ? Diba mas tugnaw didto ? ga kurog2x gani ko ron kay ni tugnaw sa amo. agiii.. heater nasad...postpone nasad akong gardening.


as for roses, I havent seen a green rose nga natural pero I have a variety of rose thats almost black..pero dili gud. One is Don Juan..super dark red murag black tan-awon sometimes, lisod kaau i capture iyang pagka velvety red...and my latest one is Memphis magic. i have some pics pero they're not that good.

This is the Memphis Magic, I got it from Johnny Becnel Show Roses. One of the best roses in the garden so far...its blooming in the 40 deg houston weather.

mobalhin mi sa indiana kay taga kentucky man ni siya, then duna pod mi property didto.  ang iyang family kay tua man sila didto tanan nanimuyo sa kentucky/indiana area.  ani man gud ni, duna man to'y plant sa philip morris sa louisville then gisira to adtong 2000.  so girelocate siya sa company dire kauban sa ubang mga workers from louisville.  then karon kay isira naman pod nila ang plant dire sa nc sa 2010, pero according sa akong bana, gahinayhinay na kuno ug pull out sa mga machines dire.  sooner or later kuno magsira na, like what they did sa louisville nga nagsira dayon, wa motunong sa date nga ilang gisibya sa media.

gaplano ang plant nga irelocate napod ang mga workers sa richmond, va.  dili na morelocate ang akong bana didto kay mahal ang cost of living then kaltasan pa jud ang ilang pay rate.  mahadlok siya nga mawala ang iyang 20% OT kicker.  so moretire na lang jud, gahuwat ra siya sa ioffer nga voluntary lay off kay naa man bonus.  hope mapilian siya.
