Provincial Board (PB) Member Josephine Socorro Jumamoy, also of the PB Committee on Cooperatives strongly pushed for the strengthening of cooperatives as the prevailing factor in addressing poverty in the province.
Even as beyond her political jurisdiction, Jumamoy came here as guest speaker during the ceremony for the Cooperative Month celebration on October 17 at the town's activity center
Jumamoy, chair of the Provincial Cooperative Development Council (PCDC), told the crowd that she personally chose the Committee on Cooperatives during the time of committee assignments, believing that strengthening the cooperatives in Bohol will help alleviated and if possible eradicate poverty in the province.
She stressed that in a cooperative, every member is expected to cooperate considering that the members are the employers and employees at the same time and as such everybody tends to show great concern for the development of the group because precisely all of them, as owners, will benefit from it.
