yes, the temptation to believe the critics is always there, if we care to admit it.  in our lucid moments, when pride goes out the window and there's no one looking, we take out our reserves of humility and say, "could i have gone wrong in this?"

does it mean then that it also takes real courage to go on with what you may have admitted is already wrong and your critics were right after all?

Unya... duna say mga brayt nga makakita pero pride gets in the way, and/or mao na jud na sila di na jud mausab kay it's built-in sa ilang system nga they see things only one way e.g. myopic and/or my way

In the intensity of debating others' view and championing one's view, or in the need to correct others and give one's opinion, we tend to get carried away in the perception of not being wrong. And this results in others' perception that one thinks that he or she is always right. Tho one should never easily concede one's defenses so easily, one should be wise enough to take into consideration other points of view.

I myself take into consideration that in the heat of the moment and in the passion of debate I tend to overlook my own faults , and I recognize this. Indeed, and I admit this.

The beauty in discourse is the ability to recognize when one is right, wrong, proven correct, or proven wrong. Sometimes this is hard for us (one can become quite adamant in the heat of the debate) and it does take time to let it all sink in. That's just the beauty of debate is that one can feel such vibrant dynamic.
