That parents have played a major role in choosing marriage partners for the secured future of their children , rather than just between the two individuals. Like traditional Chinese practice, the bride and groom meet for the first time on their wedding day.  ::)

I agree Ms/Mr vrglguapo.  but i guess it is the same process of marriage between local and a foreigner that usually happened in our country currently which is so called mail order bride / pen pal/ etc.. .  So, if mauhon nothing wrong sa arranged marriages if we'll practice it again as to revive the original Phil Culture like I said arranged marriages  ::)

personally, i dont agree with arranged marriages but some of my cousins (mga tausugs) practiced this. my closest cousin (i even attended her wedding in Zamboanga) told me she is happy with her husband so i guess its okay. they are now celebrating their 8th year wedding anniversary...
a marriage can never be perfect.. but the love can be!

as the thread asks for one's preference, my answer is no, i don't prefer it.  besides, i can't imagine my parents choosing who i'd live with for the rest of my life.
