Heavy with all the romanticism, the renaissance, the classical brouhahas in me, I can’t figure out why I love this very simple and literal lyrics of Elvis Presley’s “THE WONDER OF YOU”.   I’ve always asked my boyfriend (now husband) to sing this song for me back to back with the choir’s “How did you know” while I walk down the isle. Obviously, he never agreed to it because he could already surmise how he would wreck with nervousness on our wedding day. And so I begged him to sing for me instead at the reception. I got a big N-O once again. That no-singing stint of Prince Paul of course did not mar any bit of the marriage. With our 9 solid years together, he sings this song to me once in a while and that suffices what I missed for my wedding. I’d like to share to you all the very moving lyrics of the song.

I'm curious. I'll surely listen to this song the moment I come back home. I thought, 'Hubagang Ate' is an expression which at first, I couldn't even get.

I don't wonder when one of these days, there'd be songs titled like "Jerjer" or "Bahong Gas."

Salbakuta can go to the seventh level of musical hell anonymity but let's not include Parokya ni Edgar in the condemnation.  Most of their songs may be nonsense but those that are are totally enjoyable and those that are not are quite lyrically beautiful.
