Boom-boom Bautista Knocked Out at Third Round

[pioneer]

Mexican Heriberto Ruiz took a unanimous decision win over Rey 'Boom Boom' Bautista seconds ago in their 8-round bout here at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Ruiz knocked down Bautista in the third with a left hook, and Bautista was deducted a point in the seventh due to low blows, earning for the Mexican a 77-73, 78-72, 80-70 win.

Bautista started bleeding in the third round due to a headbutt, and was knocked down in the same round with a left hook.

Bautista's bleeding was not stopped by the corner starting in the third, and Boom-Boom was visibly bothered by the cut all throughout.

The Filipino fighter did not use his jab in the fight, and his punches were telegraphed as Ruiz continued to counterpunch beautifully and used good lateral skills to frustrate the Pinoy fighter.

also murag sayop ang title ani naa man difference sa "knock out" og "knock down"

[bol-anon nga cebuano]

yeah, correct.
knock out means the fight ended because of that but a knock down is a credit to a boxer who made his opponent touch or fell to the canvas via solid/legit punch but was able to beat the count and continued the fight.
