On September 3, 2007 the municipality of Corella celebrated its 123rd Foundation Day with the turn over of the newly reconstructed Public Market Building as its highlight.

Congressman Edgar M. Chatto was represented in the said turn over by his wife, Pureza Veloso Chatto while his message was delivered by his Chief of Staff, Former Board Member Isabelito Tongco. In his message, Chatto said that the development of a town or a locality is strongly influenced with the development of its market, being the center of commerce and trade. As such, if a market is active, vibrant and progressive it follows that the town likewise is experiencing economic growth. He further urged the municipal officials to be united and set aside political differences to have a robust town.

It may be recalled that Corella, being the home of the Tarsier Sanctuary, Chatto worked for a yearly Five Million (P5,000,000.00) Tarsier Preservation Fund that has just started this year.

Corella is celebrating its fiesta every 27th of April in honor of the patron saint Our Lady of the Village. Kinilaw kabaw is always the mainstay in the table. " Naa jud na panahon sa fiesta. Dili jud mawala ang binas-oy ug sinugbang baboy .It is the smalest town of Bohol with only 8 municipalities. Its pupolation  is  more than 6 thousand as of 2007. It is repopulated during the month of April where  many vacationist coming  mostly from Mindanao and Manila " para lang jud manista". Two or three days after the fiesta of Tagbilaran, it is again depopulated because they will go back to go their  our residence. Its worth remembering when we meet friends and relatives and exchange  greetings and even hearthfelts.  But before leaving Bohol they would glance again the famous Chocolate Hills and the Philippine tarsier particularly in Canapnapan. Corella is very proud of the Philippine Tarsier. It is one of the tourist destination in the country today.
