My Professor

To my favorite Professor,
Professor of History,
This is for you.


There was a man whose name remains ananymous

always dressed the same , always knowledge did i gain

from any topic I brought up, ! He was Unique not strange;

Millions of Intense things we discussed

when we ,did I'd shut up;

the little innocent ones having greatest fun ,

In the midst of all the tropic sun;

underneath the green leafed trees;

As he spoke volumes of all details beyond belief,

His words danced inside the breeze;

carried me anywhere across lands and seas

bio and geogrphy

what a gift this ole guy was to me ,

his mind was complete and spirit free,

no  boarder line to keep him within inside

We both traveled through the contents of his mine

and Now I have not seen him in quite some time;

all he taught I realize gave him pleasure

like a professor

seeing the light in the Student ignite in eyes

of one learning a new , finding out a treasure!

The The park again and he is nowhere in sight;

Tomorrow i will return to see

if  he too might

revisit the place where I found the truth , the answer, questions and proof!

Maybe he expects that I put all his teaching to use

If he taught me ,

maybe I should pass it on to you!

I miss his style of clothes and the glasses low on his nose,

v neck sweaters and white shirts

Buttoned and closed;

and a modest jacket ; subtle style; He could have dressed

in anyway; I stopped wondering why; He Dressed The best

after all he was a professor

he never said so I guessed!
