Mike, Aya san, Ethyl san, salamat kaayo sa inyong concern oi!  I am so touched by your kindness and concern gajud mga friends!  I am safe ra wala ra ko nag Darna!

I had a terrible night and day due to the storm. I read in one local newspaper na it was one in 10 years daw. Feeling nko mo lupad na among balay and like a kid, I thought hiding under the sheets could protect me so wa koy gawas-gawas sa bedroom until gigutom nko kaayo about 1.  Good thing at that time ningbalik na ang kuryente kay since 7:30 in the morning walay kuryente. I cooked Cream of Wheat while ga sugod nko TB while chatting with Hazel.  Daw beh, the power went out again shortly before 1:30 and didn't come back until just a while ago.  And you guess what I did first: open my computer and report to TB! hahahahha

Earlier, my husband was teasing me and asked how's life without Tubag Bohol and chikka (Chikka being his general term for chatting, you know)?  I told him I was having withdrawal syndrome I feel like eating a box of chocolate! hahahah

Anyway, the storm has stopped but the forecast said it's still gonna be raining for the next three days.  We are somehow safe because our house is elevated but our poor neighboor isn't so lucky.  Their backyard looked like a river earlier.  I asked to see if there was anything we could do and the old lady told me they will holler if the water finally gets to their house.

Adz ug Anj, korek jud mong duha!  Linaw na dre though naa pa gihapon storm watch.  Grabeh na pinsala bya tawon sa bagyo labi na tong dapit sa Reno, Nevada kay ning gave way ilang levee so nanglutaw tawon sila.  Gipang dampot sila ug helicopter intawon.  Dre sa Sacramento, grabeh naay mga napalid na big rigs tapos naay mga balay natabunan ug na uproot na kahoy.  Busa pasalamat ra gihapon mi na brown out lang among inconvenience plus of course ang kakujaw na molupad among balay.  Busa, thank you, Lord, for protecting us!

I remembered some stories of my father when he was working in the Pacific, Wake Island, where they brace themselves in chains during a typhoon. Then there was a big log flying from nowhere that hit thier barracks and made a hole through solid concrete.

Macky, thank you.  Are your relatives in the LA area okay?  The storm may not be as bad here in the North as in their place.  Gov. Arnold declare state of calamity in the Sacramento County.  It was really so bad!

It was so bad, ms ethyl for Arnold to declare state of calamity.  Kaluoy lang sa Reno kay diha lagi levee ning collapse nang lutaw tawon but na contain ra man yata pod dayon.  Sa among silingan two houses across the street, nag mistulang river ilang backyard.  I called them pero ok ra daw sila.  Kadto pa ra ba ang old man naay cancer tawon.

Dihay nasunog na balay sa downtown Sacramento kay nag kandila lagi kay nag power outage for a long time yesterday dayon natumba mao to nasunog.  Oldie ra ba ang naa didto dayon nag pass out sya.  Good thing dihay nakakita naay smoke sa iyang balay natabang ra sya.  Basta, dihay mga na uproot na mga old trees sa downtown.  Sa Sierra areas kay 10 feet ang snow to the delight of the skiiers!

Thanks a lot, Precious!  This is actually an old thread that Vito "resurrected".  Anyhow, this year I experienced the worst storm here in Northern California by far for the past 6 years.  At this particular storm, my house was like about to be uprooted from the strong wind.  It wasn't bad compared to my friend's house where they had to live in a hotel because a big tree fell on their house.  We are getting warmer now and pretty soon we will be complaining of extreme heat!
