Here's Arnel of Philippines at the center with the Journey band members,



You know for us pinoys when you hear the band name “The Journey” you think of either “Steve Perry” or “Open Arms“, right? Right!

Well in case you don’t know (livin’ under the rock, have you?), Steve Perry left the band way back in 1996, Steve Augeri (Steve’s replacement?) left in ‘06 and the latest so far, Jeff Scott Soto was let go this year.

So, here’s another pinoy record that will make all Filipinos proud! The newest lead vocalist of The Journey, as announced in their official website, is Arnel Pineda… True blue pinoy from Quezon City!

The story of Arnel Pineda being chosen to be The Journey’s vocalist very much reminded me of the 2001 Mark Wahlberg film, The Rockstar.

When it was time for JOURNEY to look for a new lead singer, the internet came to their rescue. Guitarist Neal Schon wanted someone new to the music business, so he turned to YouTube. After finding Arnel singing “Faithfully,” he knew he had found the perfect frontman.

I also saw this video in You Tube. Arnel is now the vocalist of Journey band and it's another proof that Filipinos are really talented! Mabuhay!

Just recently, Arnel was featured in a special segment by Jessica sojo of channel 7, he was interviewed lived direct from the camp of Journey in US, sus guipakanta si Arnel ni Jessica ug Faithfully arang lami-a kaajo paminawun, kay kining Journey nga banda ga sigi lang ni sila ug palit palit ug lead singer sukad nawagtang si Steeve Perry.

Well ako Ms Belle naghuwat lang ko sa bag-ong album nila sa Journey nga ilang himuun karung 2008 si Arnel ang front man nila, mao man ni guisuwat sa web site nila, naa silay series of concerts sa US then world tour apil ang pinas sa lugar nga ilang adtuan para mag concert.
