At least an assurance closes in on the conservation of this town's water resources after 40 marginal rice farmers were made to get involved through the three-day consultation meeting and stakeholders training on community-based watershed management project held October 9-11 at the barangay hall of Santo Niño.

The training was designed to enrich the farmer's capability in protecting the watershed and management of water at their small water impounding project (SWIP).

Participants came from farmers' organizations in three barangays which were the Federated Free Farmers (FFF), Santo Niño Irrigators Association and Nagkahiusang Mananagat sa Santo Niño (Namasan).

Facilitators and speakers of the gab were from the Bureau of Soil and Water Management (BSWM) headed by Dr. Gina Nilo, project team leader, chief of bureau of water management project Bohol and Chief of SWRRD with staff Dr. Gabino Isagani Urriza, Engr. Teresita Sandoval, Emiliano Silboro, Dennis de Guzman, Sharon Solitom Belina Solito and Marcelina Palis.
