Let's compile some useful information for people who come here to stay long term.    I think we need some help 

My contribution: Immigration.  Now that there is a new fangled biometric system you cannot obtain the necessary immigration documents in Bohol.  You have to go to Cebu.  Unfortunately there are a lot of fixers in the Cebu Immigration Dept.  Advice: go direct to the office of the Chief of BSI on the 2nd Floor of the Bureau of Immigration.  Thus bypassing the expensive and essentially useless fixers.
