Anda is better than Panglao. (Try Anda)

Beaches in Anda are better than Panglao's. That's according to Anos Fonacier, owner of Bohol Beach Club.

hi...i am from ubay, a neighbooring town of Anda..and yes, i've been to Anda this may lang. and its true, Anda is very much better than panglao..but the problem is ang dalan sa Anda going to the resorts is dili pa fully cemented jud. so, medyo mao ra na amo nakita na problem didto. i hope the government there will take care of it sooner..the rest is okay, the resorts were much more affordable for the local tourist. by the way, kulang sad sa promotion or ang pg market sa mga beaches diha...too bad, wlay ingon ana ka nindot nga beaches ang ubay..but in fairness, ubay is also a booming town...and im proud to be ubayanons and of course BOL-ANON...

hi yardz, mag sige baya mi anha sa ubay kay naa man mi farm diha sa ilihan, every summer bata pa mi we always look forward na mangadto mi kay magsige mi dula sa kakahuyan and dula ug dakpanay sa ibabaw sa manggahan,hay i missed that, mura jud kog unggoy na abtig kaayo mobalhin sa usa ka sanga, when i grew up na realized nako na didto diay ko nagka peklat sa mga manggahan ug sa mga alimatok na namaak nako sauna,hehehe!by the way, been to Anda beach na sad and nindot baya didto kay very virginal pa kaayo ang lugar and ngano bitaw wala pa kani ma promote and madevelop uy? paging Mike...and the mayor!!! www.mikeygatal.com/forum

taga poblacion ko sa ubay so im not really familiar pud sa ilihan., molaag ko taman ra san pascual pud..medyo sudlonon na man gud kaayo ang ilihan bah.. well, im glad that you had fun childhood memories there..

I lived in Anda for a couple of years and thats so true. The beaches in Anda are so beautiful!
If you are in Bohol just visit Anda. It's a couple of hours from Tagbilaran and you will see it's worth it!

I agree. The portal of tourism is in Tagbilaran, so it's just right that Panglao is the best. Although, it wouldn't hurt to try Anda's beach.

Anda is better in the sense that it is still not crowded compared to Panglao. Well, Anda sand is great compared to Panglao too. However, local leaders MUST MUST see to it that the necessary development framework will be in place. We do not want to have a repeat of what happened in Panglao.

Anda is an eco-cultural tourism site in the eastern peninsula. You can find there apart from the beautiful white beaches, the hanging coffins, relics of old Bohol, cave writings that dates back to antiquity. Anda tourism development should not be designed for MASS tourism. It has to be a controlled development initiative in order to maintain the heritage the people there have cherished for so long.

For future resort developers including Bohol Beach Club's Anos Fonacier, a piece of advice.... develop your resort in a way that will reflect the lives, the heritage, the culture and traditions of Andahanons and the Boholanos in general. Dont bring in  Spanish roof tiles and construct Med Villas. Structures should relfect and express vernacular Boholano architectures and art. Accessorize your hotels/resort with local crafts and arts.

Much has to be desired.......

Anda can never move up where it is now until the vicious political power is still patronized by the deceived constituents.

I must add that eco-cultural tourism entails community involvement as well. Our people has a lot to offer- talents, skills, ingenuity, hardwork- and yet they are not directly involved in the industry or its support industries. They may be slowly taking part but Bohol and our government have yet to move on forward to fully empower our people. Besides, Bohol has envisioned to become a prime eco-cultural tourist destination and a strong agro-industrial province with a self-reliant community that takes pride of their cultural heritage. 

Somehow through their involvement, they, too, must earn a living. But earning now are the big entrepreneurs owning and managing the beach resorts in Panglao and Anda. This is not totally a bad idea. I just hope that our people can be entrepreneurs, too. They can sell their arts and crafts (and not their "wares," ha!), show their talents for a fee, or manage their own businesses that supports the tourism industry.   

There are a lot of discussions and plans on how Bohol can become a true eco-cultural tourist destination. As for my part, making it come true is beyond my sole powers now. I just hope and pray that through our advocacies and even through this forum, we can make our voices be heard.

(There are lot of media people in here and public officials as well. I hope they are "listening.")

di ko kalimot anang Anda jud kay first time nako nag adto ako pa gyud na mga friends from Cebu nagdala didto kay nakadungog kuno sila na virgin beach pa kuno and wala jud ko masayop mao ning forever kong na inlove sa lugar sa Anda.lami baya mag ambak 2x didto sa pangpang dala ambak sa dagat!
