Elsie's Poem

For you, Elsie...

As the rose rises from the cold morning of winter,
it sprouts to colorful red by spring's dawn

As the blue-jay chick chirps at the coming of mother,
so does the faith of the believer beams at Christ's Word

Let trust and recompense be placed on Him who has the power,
to change, to perform, to heal, to make miracles, to strengthen..

And on that day that the rose rises to the sun's warmth
its leaves overflowing with green color, photosynthesis abounding
And on that day the sunflower will bend at the warm sunlight
And on that day the chirping of the birds will be filled by compassionate mother.

And the cool autum's wind will brush upon thy face, cooling it,
awaiting the sun's comforting warmth.
