BORACAY ISLAND, March 23 (PNA) â€" The Boracay Special Tourism Police Office (BSTPO) has warned of the increasing cases of sea traffic accidents in this resort island due to recklessness of some boat operators.

The warning was issued amid the increasing tourist arrivals in the island.

Latest victims of the traffic accidents were Melchor delos Reyes, 26 a bartender of a resort and Myrna Bautista, 51, a government employee of Leyte province.

A report said the two victims on separate occasions were swimming at the beach when they were accidentally bumped by a motorized banca.

Both sustained physical injuries and were brought to the hospital for treatment.

Suspects in the said accidents immediately surrendered to the police authorities and promised to aid in the hospitalization of the victims.

Police authorities are trying everything to minimize if not eliminate sea traffic accidents while swimming in this resort island.
