Planning for a surprise party for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary.

Akong suggest nga gift gold ring ni mama nimo kana lang simple basta gold. Or paliti sila ug bag-o nga wedding band. dayun ang daan ihatag sa kinamagulangan nga apong lalaki. o di va may kadramahan?

Thanks RPB, i'm planning of giving them a huge framed photos of them plus the family photos of my own family and so with my sis and bro's own family too.
But i'm still open for a new idea.

Congratulations in advance for your parents' anniversary.

Your questions:

1. Unsay angay nakong buhaton?

Pagbuhat ug notebook where you can list everything you need to do for this party.  TO DO list kumbaga and a planner.  Pila imong budget, list of your possible guests.  If naa na ka idea pila imong budget and number of guests, you will have clearer picture what food and how much to serve.  If "sky is the limit" imong budget, then lesser imong problem but then again you still have to calculate the number of guests vis a vis your food.  Ingon nila, maayo manobra kaysa magkulang pero tiaw ba'g daghan sobra.

Consider also having a nice wedding cake.  If they had wedding cake when they first got married, have it recreated by your local cake shop, but with gold accent na instead of the traditional oh so white wedding cake.  Kong naa ko diha, akoy mo volunteer ug buhat. hehehe 

By the way, magpakasal ba sila balik?  I dunno if you mentioned earlier basin na miss nako.

2. Unsay maajong i gift?

Nice kaayo mga suggestions nila dire like gold band (gold jud kay golden anniversary man), framed family pictures, crosstitched family pictures - nice pod!

You may also want to take your parents to an out of country vacation, if that's okay, or not, just let them enjoy the beauty of panglao kana ba maka hotel jud sila.  I think it would really help if we knew your parents but since wa mi kaila, ato lang tubagon ang question na "unsay ilang gusto?"  basin diay gusto lang jud nila makipag bonding sa inyong tanan so mag weekend getaway, kana kon kaya sa budget but there are inexpensive ways of spending time together, di ba?

I am not too good in planning out programs but maybe by starting this, naay lain mo comment and we can polish a better looking party program for your parents' anniversary party.

a.  start the program with a nice blessing/prayer by your priest or pastor or an elder.

b. introduction of guests.

c.  video viewing while having dinner.
Naa sa inyo chada magbuhat ug video?  Ipag collate nang mga old pictures sa imong parents, if naa pa, when they were still young, dating and when they got married.  Then when they got their children and grandchildren.  Kanang mga milestones sa ilang kinabuhi ba like pagkasal ba ninyo ilang mga anak or pag bunyag sa mga apo, or sa pag reunion ninyo. 

d.  dance presentation ba kaha sa mga apo kay mas cute man kaysa mga anak. hehehe no offense meant but malingaw man gud mga lolo ug lola kon mga apo ang magpasundayag but if you their children wants to perform like sing them their favorite songs, that's good too.

e.  give your parents the time to speak.  speech na nila.

f.  then, presentation of family gifts to your parents.  gifts can be best wishes or blessings.  i am getting wacky but i am thinking of having grand or greatgrandchildren dress like fairies with a symbolic magic wand to wish your parents happy things!  ignore me if i am just being too much!

the same fairies should bring the souvenir, if you have, to the guests!  souvenir ideas:  just a golden bell with a gold ribbon and a small card with "thank you for being a party of this celebration" or something like that.  Maayo unta dako budget you can have their name etched in the souvenir but as I said naay laing inepensive ways and yet beautiful pa rin.  Naa na daw barato mga giveaways diha sa Tutuban or you can make your own. 

g.  the children or can be represented by the eldest should give thanks to your parents and to the guests present in the gathering.

My parents are just a very simple and ordinary  folks but i want to give them extraordinary feeling of happiness that they never expect comes their anniversary date....pamawi sa mga panahon nga nagpabuyag kaniadto...hehehe

It is common to have renewal of vows, basin mosogot ang pari kon adto sa balay ang misa, with close families around, ug sa atong simbahan, daghang manokos sa imong handa, ma pordoy ka.
If you canvass some hotels for a long weekend with all inclusive for your parents, you might get some discounts kay ang September dili naman high season, these are my personal  opinion. God bless and good luck.

bugsay, you are welcome.  it always make me happy to see threads like this na dedicated to parents.  bisan medyo na busy ko, i just couldn't ignore your thread kay i feel like i am doing this too to my own parents.

well, simple ra pod akong parents.  siguro if sila ang mag golden anniversary, we will also have a renewal of vows and the other stuff i suggested except that we couldn't afford an out of the country trip for them.  i knew what to give my mom.  she likes piglets na iyang buhion para ihawon panahon pista or di gani payong.  i don't know, she has a thing for payong as in umbrella.  when i was still in manila, i bought her half a dozen payong and she was beaming with so much happiness.  iya ra pod gipang share ang uban sa among cousins/silingan.  si daddy, gaan lang na gamay money para ipang wilwig sa iyang mga apo ug i mahjong, happy na pod na siya. 

i think ma happy na jud na imong mga parents kon magkatapok iyang mga old friends and all or most of their family members.  secondary na kanang mga ka ek-ekan.

basta if naa pa kay questions, ask lang basin diay makatabang pa mi, bugs.
