Local biscuit manufacturer Monde MY San Corp. has inked an agreement with Japanese confectionery product wholesaler and retailer Yoshiya Co. Ltd., enabling the Philippine firm to export its products to Japan.

With the deal in place, Monde MY San can offer its Sky Flakes and MY San Grahams to the Japanese market. These products, the company said in a statement yesterday, were the specific brands that Yoshiya chose to market because of their quality and taste.

“We forwarded samples with the required ingredients and waited for [Yoshiya’s] approval before we proceeded,” Monde MY San export officer Jesusel Santos said.

Santos did not specify how much the initial shipment was worth and how big the volume was.

The partnership was forged through the guidance of food expert Makoto Nakamura, who got acquainted with the Monde MY San brands at the International Food Exhibition (Ifex) Philippines in 2008.

Nakamura visited Ifex 2008 to identify Philippine manufacturers that had the potential to make it in the Japanese market.

Following initial talks with Monde MY San executives, Nakamura introduced the company to Yoshiya.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. - John 3:16-18

Japanese use skyflakes for their engineering project. They use strands of spaghetti and biscuits for modeling bridges and road pavements. I saw it once on TV.

Long time ago, I read an article about a Filipino couple managing a store selling all-Pinoy products somewhere in Europe. Siyempre, mga Pinoy and other Southeast Asians ang ilang mga clients. One day, diha kunoy "nasaag" nga puti. Nangitag Skyflakes. A Filipina friend of hers kuno let her taste the crackers. Lamian kuno kon ipares og kape.  After her, daghan nang mga puti mosulod sa ilang tindahan mangitag Skyflakes. The crackers must have a "global" taste if there is such.

Speaking of crackers, naay lain, ginganlag Fita. One time nangaon mi og Fita with some Swedish friends. Sigi silag pangatawa kay sigi man kog pangutana nila, "Do you like our Fita?" . A'ng-a'ng mag dili sila mangatawa, kay ang pu'ong nga "fita" bil*t man diay sa ilaha. Ha ha ha!
