Aya San's First Death Anniversary

Exactly a year now, TB was in great grief due to the sudden death of a very dear friend Aya san aka Orchids.  She was still blogging here that same day then few hours later she was gone.  Stroke at a very young age.  Gone forever. 

She was a loving wife and a mother of two girls and a boy. Her family, especially her children were everything to her.

She was a very dear friend, a loving and generous friend.  Often times we find people saying good things about somebody when he or she is gone already but what I am saying here is really true.   A few members of TB had the chance to meet her in one of the EBs in Cebu can attest to this.  Tita Sol aka Langgamtamsi can attest to this.  I can attest to this from our conversation in the public forum, and privately.  We all can attest to this in her posts here.  And she was funny too - in a good way! A woman of substance...

She loves flowers.  Orchids were her most favorite among all flowers.

Yes, Maring.  Fresh pa kaayo sa akong panumduman.  It was a Wednesday when I learned of her death.  As you know, super duper busy jud ko'g Wednesday kay mao nay Feed The Needy day.  Bibo kaayo mi ga prepare for the dinner that day for the needy then I noticed na diha'y sadness sa akong heart.  I told the other volunteers na naa koy unexplained sadness in my heart.  Ingon sya basin tired lang ko.  I knew it was different jud.  When I got home, dretso ko sa akong computer kay basin naay news ba sa amo, then I saw Tita Sol aka Langgamtamsi's message asking me to inform TB of Aya san's death kay di nya kaya mag sulti sa katawhan.  I was so, so grief stricken kay naa pa koy unfinished promise ni Aya san na recipe para pagpa lower sa iyang blood pressure.  When I called you, ga syagita jud ko. I was in total disbelief. Nakuratan gud Murage adto what happened.  I told him, remember kadtong nagpadala nko ug box from Japan mao to namatay sya. Mao to nag confe ta ni Mike, Gemma, Hapon and Hazel ug kinsa pa ba to.

I compared you to this kind of beautiful flowers because even how hard the winter is...."the first beauty of the latent bud covered with snow will prosper under the heat of the early sun rays in springtime".  Your everlasting beauty and fighting spirit is as strong as the cherryblossoms!   Under your avatar, it is stated in your last phrase " kirschblüte.....I`ll be back guys...am too busy".  Deep in my heart, you never leave TB, you are always with us in spirit because we all love you and you know that! For the information of TB friends who are new here, in celebration of Aya san's life, TB represented by Tita Sol is holding a gift giving to the elderly people in Aya san's birth place in Baranggay Candabong, Anda. We were able to raise close to 30k for this project.  Aya san was planning to go home and do this project but since she is gone already, her trusted and closest friends Tita Sol aka Langgamtamsi, Lori and Katrina thought of making her wish come true, thus this project.  We will wait for Tita Sol to come back from Anda to hear update on this.  I think Hazel aka Ginger will be there to assist Tita Sol too.

To all those who supported this project - financially and or thru prayers, my heartfelt appreciation.  May God bless you all for being instrumental in putting a little smile to the elderly people in Aya san's baranggay Candabong. 

And to Tita Sol, thank you very much! Lavooo, Tita! Kindly extend our thanks to Lorie and Katrina for their help.

On the eve of her first death anniversary, finally nagkakita mi ni LanggamTamsi (Ate Sol) who came all the way from Australia. She stayed in Flower Beach Resort in Virgen, Anda, with Lorie, another intimate friend of Aya. Adto pa ko kabalo na Aya and Ate Sol nagkahimamat sa Internet, and their friendship was nurtured through tubagbohol and andabohol.org. I thought na they grew up together. It was amazing to have such kind of closeness between Aya and Ate Sol, two total strangers who had never met before until they met in Cebu in 2008.

The next day, nagkita napud mi ni Ate Sol and Lorie didto sa balay ni Beding Amplayo, probably the oldest woman in Anda today. She is 96 years old. Close relative ni Ate Sol. Then we proceeded to Candabong sa balay ni Aya where she grew up. A day before, Ate Sol and Lorie facilitated the gift-giving for the elderly of the barangay. It was Aya's dream to reach out the elderly of her barangay. Ug nahatagan ug katomanan kadtong maong pangandoy pinaagi sa tabang sa mga kahigalaan sa tubagbohol ug sa pag-facilitate ni Ate Sol and Lorie.

Meeting Ate Sol for the first time was such a blessing. Dili ka mataha niya despite the fact na she has been living in Australia for decades. I thought she's 40 plus. Dili diay. She's ___ years old na diay. Definitely a humble woman possessing a bit of shyness in her soul, Ate Sol carries the kind of calm, generous, welcoming and friendly personality nga mao poy personality ni Aya.

Bisan sa kanubo sa among panag-uban, daghan na ko ug nahibaw-an nga mga maayong hiyas sa pagkatawo ni Ate Sol. Matod pa niya, virtual kaluha daw sila ni Aya.
