good point sir bedo, mao na ang usa sa mga requirement for an ISO certified company especially sa mga ASP nga company.

regarding this crash issue, dapat jud naa parallel run nga mahitabo during sa upgrade since dli tanan upgrade successful. tngali ang sakto nga sizing sa hardware pero possible sad nga ang budget gikuhaan so instead nga enterprise grade nga machine nahimo nalang nga entry level nga server.   >:(

diha sad daw one time nga mopalit daw ang BIR ug new servers then grabe daw ka overkill ang specs then ang presyo sad perte ka overkill. ang file server lang kono daan pila na daw ka terabytes pero ilang nagamit wla lang daw kaabot ug 500Gb and they're spending a lot for the storage rentals per month anaa since SAN man nga setup.

everytime nga makabasa ko ug AMA makahinumdom dayon ko sa akoang failure nga grade sa "Data Structures" nako nga class. sa laboratory namo mismo nasudlan ug "AMA Quezon City" nga virus (forgot the name) then na-infect akoa source codes para sa amoa exams unta to then ang resulta dli modawat amoa lab teacher then got a 3.1 final grade. ew!!!  >:(  that was 2002 man tngali... wla pa man ang USB that time so diskette ra jud ang saligan.

hopefully nahimo na nga straight ang utok sa author adto nga virus, maayo nalang sad gani kay wala na nako ang infected nga files by the time mi-takeup ko ug "virus" class sauna.... anyway, past is past...  8)

Technology / Re: Smartbro Mobile
« on: April 11, 2009, 06:28:19 PM »

akoa sad gi-try diay ang smartbro sim sa akoa phone, kalooy sa Diyos dli ko maka-browse ;D gipul-an nalang ko ug kolikot sa akoang phone so akoa nalang gibalik sa device nila.  :P unlike sa data sim nako ngari nga plug&play lang, internet sharing over wireless lan... i think kinahanglan pa nimo gamiton ilang application para sa network connection sa smartbro servers for authentication.

then a year ago sad (last year nga bakasyon) akoa gi-try browse gamit akong phone sa prepaid sim sa globe maka-browse ra ko sa amoa company webmail pero wla na nako ma-test kaayo kay nahurot akoa load.  :'( so expect ko nga dako tngali ang charges nila per minute.

for yahoo messengers, gtalk ug uban messengers i think ok ra. pero for browsing.... ah... .... mangalot sa ko... then maybe a minute after diha pa mo-load.  :o

i was able to connect to our VPN servers pero mga 6 to 8x tngali ko ka-disconnect (within 30mins) not good for GUI pero ok ra sya for CLI.

atoa nalang hunahunaon nga at least naa na mobile services sa bohol.  ;)

then nag-check pud ko sa cebu, mura ang highspeed service nila kay within the city area lang then mga pila ka Km away outside of metro cebu pero dli gihapon totally covered and city. didto dapit sa uptown hinay man gihapon ang smartbro wa jud ko kaTiming asa dapita na ilang giingon nga covered.

sa mga feedback sa visibility sad kay mostly bati man gihapon... pero akoa lang gikuha ang smartbro kay medyo kusog2x man ang smart sa amoang area sa bohol compared to globe.

FTP - File Transfer Protocol

kasagaran naggamit ania for the purpose of file download usahay allowed sad ang upload.

kung HTTP/HTTPS runs on web servers (eg apache, apache, apache  ::) ... IIS and others) on ports 80/443 ang FTP modagan na sya via port 21 ang name sa iyang server FTP server (proftp, vsftp, ug uban pa).

naa ni sya 2 ka types: ang active FTP ug ang passive FTP ang kalahian ra nila is ang ports nga gigamit during sa data trasactions.

for the details check nalang ang wikipedia kay daghan explanation didto.  :o tapolan lang ko motype. hehehe

another thing, sFTP runs on port 22 for secure FTP.

Technology / Re: Internet Explorer Out; Google Chrome In -- Ooops! Out!
« on: November 28, 2008, 01:04:32 PM »
 :o

i just want to tell you guys that this browser is a privacy threat to the users and some sysadmins call this thing as "self-inflicted keylogger". one of my proxy servers died early morning (around 1AM +8GMT) because of the huge outgoing traffic to this site: http://cr-tools.clients.google.com while nobody's in the office except for those support people.

another thing is that using this browser, google is monitoring your surfing habits  :-X

oh bad, need to remove this browser out of my box at home.  >:( i thought it's worth a try but seems to be a nasty thing just for the sake of business.

by the way, all the info that i shared came from my server log reviews, research, investigation and some security consultations with our security team and i'm convinced that this is not a better browser. i still love my firefox;D

Actual log from one of my servers:

i believe this is somehow related to the link below:

Summary:
Email claims that attached photographs depict a bloody whale slaughter near a shore in the Faroe Islands, a province that is part of Denmark.
