Love Talk / Bob Ong's Lab Adbays
« on: November 07, 2012, 02:54:20 PM »
Dear Mr. Bob Ong,

Roses? Kalachuchi? Chocnut at sampaguita?

In lab na po ako. Ano po ang gagawin ko? Is she the one?

Lubos na gumagalang,

-MATT -

My cousin Jovanie,

It's been 10 months since the Lord took you away from us. I miss you. You were like a brother to me. I remember, bantayan pa tika sa baby pa ka.. then as an adult, manulong lang ka sa balay, mokaon, tan-aw tv, makiglaag..Your sudden death left us heart broken for physically, dili naka namo makauban pa.. pero as months passed by, nalipay nami cos we know you are with our Lord.. When I visited your grave this afternoon, wa kapugong akong luha sa pagtulo... Gaw, we all miss you :) I will always remember your quote: "To Forgive A Woman's Lie Is A Man's Duty!!

Philippine Photo Gallery / Britannia Group of Islands
« on: November 01, 2012, 02:09:07 PM »
Britannia Group of Islands is composed of 24 islets beautifully scattered in Lianga Bay. It is located in Barangay Britannia of San Agustin, Surigao del Sur. The group of islands is like a small version of the 100 islands of Pangasinan.

The islands have white powedery sands and you can rent a boat to see the islets closer. You can visit each island and relax there. You are also allowed to bring your own food. Just be responsible with your garbage. When we went there, we took our garbage with us when we left. Some people bring their tents and camp there.

As of now, the islands remain unspoiled and I hope they would stay that way.

I'm dedicating this thread to Ma'am Islander  :-*

Alley Cat Allies created National Feral Cat Day® a decade ago to promote humane care for feral cats. Our efforts to share information and educate others on the importance of Trap-Neuter-Return have been supported year after year by caring individuals and groups--in tiny towns, in big cities, and in places in between! Last year advocates hosted hundreds of events nationally and around the world. We want to top that in 2012—join us! Whether you’re holding a one-time event to raise money or awareness, or working toward sustainable change for cats in your community with ongoing projects or initiatives, we welcome your efforts! Helping cats starts with you!

Facts and Trivia / Malaysian Flying Fox
« on: October 14, 2012, 02:42:03 PM »

What is a flying fox?

Another common name for flying fox is fruit bat.  Flying foxes belong to a group of mammals called Chiroptera, which means hand-wing.  A bats wing is its hand.  The hand has elongated fingers with a thin membrane of skin stretched between them.

There are 173 different species of fruit bats found in tropical and subtropical areas of the old world. Some of the places where fruit bats are abundantly found are Africa, Asia, Indonesia, and Australia.  Fruit bats are often the only mammals on oceanic islands.

Fruit bats come in many different sizes, the largest is the Malaysian flying fox  Pteropus vampyrus it's wingspan is over 51/2 feet, to the smallest the Blossom bat Syconycteris Australis for Australia and New Guinea, it can fit in the palm of your hand.

Many fruit bat's faces look like small dogs, but some have very unique features like tubular noses, hammer shaped head, facial stripes, there is even a group of fruit bats from the Solomon Islands with very small ears which gives the bat an appearance of having a monkey face.

Most fruit bats roost in trees, some of the large species of Pteropus and Acerodon form large groups, these groups are called camps. Other fruit bats species roost in caves and hollow trees, while other species are very secretive and live among the leaves or build tents out of plants.

Flying foxes eat fruit, flowers and nectar, they find their food by sight and smell. Fruit bats may fly over 20 mile to reach it's feeding grounds. Rainforest plants and trees depend on fruit bats for pollination and seed dispersal. Flying foxes help insure that there will always be there.

Fruit bats usually give birth once a year, but some species give birth twice a year. Fruit bat mothers have one offspring at a time, but twins sometimes occur, the babies are born with soft fur and their eyes are closed, a young flying fox is called a pup.  Young fruit bats learn to fly at the age of 3 months, at which time they accompany their mothers on their nightly foraging to learn how to locate food and what they can eat. Fruit bats can live up to 25 years in captivity.

Weird and Extreme / CANNIBAL ATTACK IN CHINA
« on: October 11, 2012, 11:42:08 AM »
60-year-old furiously biting 28-year-old teacher over a seat in Guangzhou Metro. The incident was caught on tape by a female passenger, who uploaded the clip to Chinese website Sina Weibo, China Daily reports.

The older man, a 67-year-old who has been identified only as "Chen," boarded the subway at around 8:30 a.m., according to Sina.com. The younger man, a 28-year-old identified as "Wu," reportedly shoved Chen out of the way as he scrambled to get a seat.

Chen then began chastising Wu for not respecting his elders, a witness told New Express Daily, according to China Daily's translation. The woman says the older man then punched Wu, resulting in a physical fight that ended with the biting scene in the video.

The witness noted that bystanders initially did try to break up the fight, but it quickly became so violent that they were frightened away.

Both Chen and Wu suffered only minor injuries, according to Sina.com's translation of the Southern Metropolis Daily.

Neither man is facing charges, and both reportedly apologize for their actions. Even so, residents of Guangzhou may want to consider seeing if they can get in on the zombie apocalypse training offered by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, just to be safe. (c)Huffingtonpost.com

Philippine Daily News / SC stops cybercrime law, issues TRO
« on: October 09, 2012, 12:42:13 PM »

MANILA, Philippines - The Supreme Court on Tuesday, October 9, stopped the implementation of the controversial cybercrime law, insiders said.

In a unanimous verdict, the High Tribunal issued a temporary restraining order on the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, the same insiders added.

The verdict comes on the same day that the Department of Justice began its consultations with various sectors to clarify the details and meaning of the law.

A total of 15 petitions were filed with the High Court questioning the constitutionality of the law, which, among others, criminalize libel, increase penalties of crimes under the Revised Penal Code to one degree, and allow government agencies to collect traffic data.

Lawyers and media organizations have slammed the law for its ambiguities and the power it extends to the Department of Justice, which can shut down any web site based on prima facie evidence of libelous content.

Newly discovered Asik-Asik falls in Barangay Dado, Alamada, North Cotabato attracts tourists which became one of the main attractions in the province.

How To Get There?

Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars

                http://youtu.be/GemKqzILV4w

"Chasing Cars"

We'll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don't need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
