Garden Cafe is located beside St. Joseph Cathedral in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. More about Garden Cafe. Nice dining, both Filipino and American pizza. The staff is all deaf so you select items from a small order form. The furnishing is American with boxes and red "leather" upholstery. The prices are very low and the atmosphere is nice.

It was different, though, was everything else. When Woods made his way from the practice  green to the tee, a roar went up before he was even visible. Another roar came when he arrived on the tee, only this time, he turned in each direction and smiled -- an expression that seemed a mixture of gratitude and relief.

It's far too early to tell what the sequence meant for Woods in his first round, in his quest for a fifth green jacket, or more generally, in his pursuit of Jack Nicklaus' 18 major championships. But it did say plenty about how golf feels about having him back.

Tiger Woods answers questions for the first time since scandal
Golfdigest.com

Tiger Woods hadn't answered questions until Sunday night about his infidelity.
From combined reports
March 21, 2010
A contrite Tiger Woods took questions from reporters in two separate interviews on Sunday, acknowledging that his public image differed drastically from a private life of marital misconduct.

"I was living a life of a lie, I really was," Woods told ESPN's Tom Rinaldi, in an interview that aired Sunday evening. "And I was doing a lot of things ... that hurt a lot of people. And stripping away denial and rationalization you start coming to the truth of who you really are and that can be very ugly. But then again, when you face it and you start conquering it and you start living up to it, the strength that I feel now ... I've never felt that type of strength.

After announcing that he would end his extended hiatus from competitive golf at the Masters in two weeks, Woods conducted separate interviews with ESPN and Golf Channel at Isleworth, the golf club near his home on Windermere, Fla. While neither outlet was restricted on questions, both were given a five-minute time limit.

While declining to answer questions about the specifics of the Nov. 27 auto accident that triggered the series of revelations about Woods' extramarital affairs, Woods did admit to damaging his relationship with everyone from his wife to sponsors to fans. In both private and family counseling, Woods said, "It was really tough to look at yourself in a light you never want to look at yourself, that's pretty brutal."

"I hurt a lot of people, not just my wife," he told Rinaldi on Sunday. "My friends, my colleagues, the public, kids who looked up to me. There were a lot of people that thought I was a different person and my actions were not according to that. That's why I had to apologize. I was so sorry for what I had done."

In his Golf Channel interview with Kelly Tilghman, Woods denied that members of his inner circle were complicit in arranging his affairs.

"It was all me. I'm the one who did it. I'm the one who acted the way I acted. No one knew what was going on when it was going on," Woods said. "I'm sure if more people would have known in my inner circle, they would have stopped it or tried to put a stop to it. But I kept it all to myself."

Following the interview, Tilghman reported that Ari Fleischer, the one-time White House spokesman for George W. Bush, had withdrawn his services as a public-relation consultant to Woods because he had become too much of a distraction.

Woods has not competed since winning the Australian Masters last November. He said he didn't know what to expect when he returns at Augusta National, where he has won four green jackets.

"I'm a little nervous about that to be honest with you," Woods told ESPN. "It would be nice to hear a couple claps here and there."

FROM START-UP SOFTWARE VENDOR TO GLOBAL MARKET LEADER

Over the course of three decades, SAP has evolved from a small, regional enterprise into a world-class international company. Today, SAP is the global market leader in collaborative, inter-enterprise business solutions. The company now employs more than 39,300 people, whose commitment and innovative spirit pace our future success.

The 1970s: A Real-Time Vision

In 1972, five former IBM employees — Dietmar Hopp, Hans-Werner Hector, Hasso Plattner, Klaus Tschira, and Claus Wellenreuther — launch a company called Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing in Mannheim, Germany. Their vision: to develop standard application software for real-time business processing. One year later, the first financial accounting software is complete, forming the basis for the continuous development of other software components in what later came to be known as the “R/1 system.” “R” stands for real-time data processing. By the end of the decade, intensive examination of SAP’s IBM database and dialog control system leads to the birth of SAP R/2.

The 1980s: Rapid Growth

SAP moves into the company’s first building on Max-Planck-Strasse in an industrial park in Walldorf, near Heidelberg. Our software development area and its 50 terminals are all now under one roof. Fifty of the 100 largest German industrial firms are already SAP customers. The SAP R/2 system attains the high level of stability of the previous generation of programs. Keeping in mind its multinational customers, SAP designs SAP R/2 to handle different languages and currencies. With this and other innovations in SAP R/2, SAP sees rapid growth.By the middle of the decade, SAP founds its first sales organization outside Germany, in Austria. The company makes its first appearance at the CeBIT computer fair in Hanover, Germany. Revenues reach DM 100 million (around $52 million), earlier than expected. In August 1988, SAP GmbH becomes SAP AG. Starting on November 4, 1.2 million shares are listed on the Frankfurt and Stuttgart stock exchanges. Germany’s renowned business journal, manager magazine, names SAP its Company of the Year — a distinction we would receive twice more in the next few years. With the founding of subsidiaries in Denmark, Sweden, Italy, and the United States, SAP’s international expansion takes a leap forward.

The 1990s: A New Approach to Software and Solutions

SAP R/3 is unleashed on the market. The client-server concept, uniform appearance of graphical interfaces, consistent use of relational databases, and the ability to run on computers from different vendors meets with overwhelming approval. With SAP R/3, SAP ushers in a new generation of enterprise software — from mainframe computing to the three-tier architecture of database, application, and user interface. To this day, the client-server architecture is the standard in business software. A growing number of subsidiaries are managed out of Walldorf. The new Sales and Development Center in Walldorf officially opens it doors. It symbolizes the global success of the company. In our twentieth year, our business outside Germany exceeds 50 percent of total sales for the first time.By 1996, the company has earned 1,089 new SAP R/3 customers. At the end of the year, SAP R/3 has been installed in more than 9,000 systems worldwide.SAP celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary in 1997 and now employs approximately 12,900 people. We continue to strengthen our industry focus and build more and more industry-specific solutions. Henning Kagermann becomes Co-Chairman and CEO of SAP AG with Hasso Plattner. On August 3, 1998, the letters S-A-P appear for the first time on the Big Board at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the largest stock exchange in the world. As the decade draws to a close, Hasso Plattner, Co-Founder, Co-Chairman, and CEO announces the mySAP.com strategy, heralding the beginning of a new direction for the company and our product portfolio. mySAP.com links e-commerce solutions to existing ERP applications, using state-of-the-art Web technology.

The 2000s: Innovation for the New Millennium

With the Internet, the user becomes the focus of software applications. SAP develops SAP Workplace and paves the way for the idea of an enterprise portal and role-specific access to information.Currently, more than 12 million users work each day with SAP solutions. There are now 121,000 installations worldwide, more than 1,500 SAP partners, over 25 industry-specific business solutions, and more than 41,200 customers in 120 countries. SAP is the world’s third-largest independent software vendor.

GRAPEVINE—That's actually where the world record breaking Manny Pacquiao Entourage, which makes the old Muhammad Ali carnival troupe look like a ragtag and smallish assembly, has landed.

Megamanny, gorgeous wife Jinkee, Pacman the dog and 139 of Manny's closest (?) friends and associates all came to Texas for his Saturday night bout against Joshua Clottey at Cowboys Stadium over in Arlington (said to be a 20 minute ride away).

After the charter flight, organized by the efficient Canadian Michael Koncz and his various helpers, Team Pacquiao was suitably ensconced in the lavish Gaylord Texan Hotel , which has a huge atrium and is a microcosm of the state complete with a rendering of The Alamo.

Gaylord is the official hotel of Jerry Jones' storied NFL franchise which is commonly referred to as “America's Team.” Guess you could properly call the Pacman troops “Philippines' Team.”

I don't think the Philadelphia Eagles game traveling party runs as deep as Pacman's crew does. Btw, don't think Uncle Bob Arum pays the freight, not to mention the room service and bar tabs, for all these people. The entire bill is eventually paid by Pacquiao.

Suffice to say Pacman shirts and Pinoy flags are seen all over the Gaylord. The crowd is mixed in Manny's group, you basically have two kinds of people, Filipinos and Fil-Ams meaning Filipino-Americans.

Top Rank Photo (Chris Farina) Looks like Pacman the person and Pacman the dog...may go...all the way!

I'm not sure if wife Jinkee is Manny's best friend or if little canine Pacman is but, just to be on the safe side, he brought them both to this, his last bout before the crucial May 10 Congressional election in Sarangani province.

Pacquiao is 0-1 in runs for elective office in his homeland and his foe this time is billionaire Roy Chiongbian who comes from a politically connected family.

I bumped into one of Pacman's 140 near my room. Now I don't want Floyd Mayweather, who claims to own and operate something a recording label/music management firm tastefully called Philthy Rich, but Pacman brought his vocal coach, Helen Buscema, along.

Upon arrival in Texas, General Pacquiao and his chief adviser, lovely wife Jinkee (Top Rank Photo/Chris Farina)

Buscema hooked up with Manny at Christ The King Church, not far from Freddie Roach;s Wild Card Gym, where she is the church cantor.

Can Manny really sing, I asked, and if he can't, who would have the nerve to tell him?

In two Jimmy Kimmel appearances, Manny has crooned two love songs.

“Manny has singing talent,” Buscema said. “He really does. My frustration is getting his time and attention for lessons. I am lucky to get bits of him, 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there because he has so many other demands on his time.”

Maybe Manny and Floyd can add a karaoke competition to that one on one basketball game between them that people keep suggesting.

Let's see who can deliver “My Way” in a more pleasing way, I say.

Have I lost my musical mind, I ask myself.

I just looked back at my now proper dateline.

The song must be the old Motown classic, “I Heard It Through The Grapevine.”

A major bridge connecting northern and southern Chile was damaged in Saturday's earthquake.

STORY HIGHLIGHTS

NEW: Hawaii plans evacuations; U.S. West Coast, Alaska under tsunami watch
NEW: Quake is 1,000 times stronger than the one in Haiti

78 believed killed; death toll expected to rise

(CNN) -- A massive magnitude 8.8 earthquake rocked Chile early Saturday, killing at least 78 people and triggering tsunami warnings for the entire Pacific basin. Chilean President Michelle Bachelet said she expected the death toll to rise.  "We are taking all the necessary measures at this time," she told reporters.

Officials did not give any information on the number of those injured. The full extent of the damage was not yet known, although there were reports of collapsed buildings and hundreds of people in the streets. The capital of Santiago lost electricity and basic services including water and telephones. Bachelet said regional hospitals had suffered damage; some were evacuated. A major bridge connecting northern and southern Chile was rendered inoperable, and the Santiago airport was shut down for at least the next 24 hours.

Chilean television showed buildings in tatters in Concepcion, with whole sides torn off. At least two buildings there were engulfed in flames, and roads in the city were broken up, video showed.

Ciso desist

In the 12-round co-main, Fernando “Cochulito” Montiel, of Los Mochis, Mexico, showed the Filipino-favoring fans that he still has it, by folding his formerly-undefeated Pinoy foe to the floor with a ripping body shot.

Though undefeated, Ciso “Kid Terrible” Morales was largely untested before getting his shot at the pound-for-pound powerhouse Montiel, his minor Oriental belts somehow tiptoeing his name into contention.

Montiel, however, sent Morales back into the minor leagues for a season or two. Countering off his opponent’s jab, Montiel backed Morales against the ropes, then hurled a hook downstairs, a right up top, and, for a grand finale, finished the Filipino with a solar plexus hook that dropped Morales to the floor for the ten-count, and then some.

Clutching his battered bread basket, Morales was counted out by referee Robert Byrd at 2:06.

“I knew I had to get inside of his long jab,” said Montiel. “When I did that, I hit him with the left, and a right just before that. I didn’t think he was going to get up.”

Montiel, now 40-2-2, 30 KOs, is looking for bigger paydays at bantamweight, possibly against Donaire or in unifying two of the four major belts against WBC champ Hozumi Hasagawa.

Suffering his first loss, Morales drops to 14-1, 8 KOs.

MANILA, Philippines—A wet towel left lying on the floor led to the downfall on Monday of one of the country’s most wanted fugitives.

Convinced on seeing the black towel that their quarry was just around, agents of the National Bureau of Investigation peered into a stockroom and, with the beam of a flashlight, saw a pile of mannequins—and a tattooed arm.

“Come out of there, Jason Ivler. We are from the NBI,” NBI officer Angelito Magno shouted. But the man acted “like Rambo” and answered him with bursts of gunfire.

Two months after he went into hiding, the 27-year-old Ivler—an American charged with murder for the killing of a motorist—was captured by his hunters while hiding in his mother’s home at Blue Ridge A
