Mayor Sara seeks Dabawenyos' cooperation in ECQ

Via SunStar Davao - As the Davao City government steps up stringent rules under an Enhanced Community Quarantine starting Saturday night, 4 April 2020, Mayor Inday Sara Duterte has sought the cooperation of all Dabawenyos and follow with the guidelines.

Mayor Sara, who issued Executive order N. 23 on Thursday, said the people's cooperation is the only key to slow down the transmission of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the absence of vaccine or treatment of the infection.

EO 23 sets stringent rules such as suspension of operation of mass transportation and limiting movement of people to those working in the city government and agencies dealing with disaster, relief, social services and security, and those in the private establishments operating essential services. These people are permitted to travel using buses that the city government has commissioned.

Mayor Sara said other individuals with Food and Medicine passes will be allowed to do their tasks and will benefit from the transportation that the city government has deployed.

“We have to limit the mass transportation to also limit the movement of the people so that they will stay in their houses,” she said during her interview with Davao City Disaster Radio.

The mayor does not discount the possibility of tougher lockdown rules. She said the current situation can be upgraded to an Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine (EECQ) if the Covid-19 remains a public health threat.

“Hopefully we will not reach to the point that we will have to implement an EECQ. Personally, I do not want it,” she said.

LGU Philippines / San Miguel Corporation To Produce Ethyl Alcohol
« on: April 01, 2020, 07:30:11 PM »

« on: April 01, 2020, 07:27:20 PM »
From DOH - Ngayong panahon ng krisis, mas lalong dapat nating ipadama ang tunay na pagmamahal sa bayan at sa kapwa Pilipino.

Magkaisa. Sumunod. Maging maalam at mapagmatiyag.

Philippine Archive / Metropop - Metro Manila Popular Music Festival
« on: April 01, 2020, 04:57:41 PM »
From FB page of Senator Imee Marcos
DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN...

... The Metro Manila Popular Music Festival, more popularly known as Metropop, was held every year from 1978 to 1985?

Metropop was the country's pioneering songwriting competition which launched the careers of many Filipino singers and songwriters, including Freddie Aguilar, Ryan Cayabyab, Odette Quesada, and many more.

The festival's main objective was the advancement of Filipino music, and its main proponent was Senator Imee Marcos who steered the competition together with the late Teodoro 'Ka Doroy' Valencia.

Many of the songs featured during the Metropop years are now considered Filipino music classics. Check out some of them at Imee's OPM Playlist in Spotify thru this link:

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1xMWbRGevtxufoqJFiImzS?si=rNN9OcWfQAaRW6AJkQdSSQ

It is said that music can evoke emotional responses to relax or stimulate people or help them heal. During difficult times, people take refuge in music that brings back happy memories and raises their spirits.

In the comments section, please reel off your list of favorite OPM songs that you would want to include in Senator Imee's playlist. Thank you! #IMEEsPlaylist

SEC ISSUES CEASE AND DESIST ORDER AGAINST PAYASIAN

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has ordered Payasian Pte. Ltd.
Corporation to stop enticing the public to invest supposedly in a cryptocurrency called
Paya without the necessary license.
In an order issued on March 20, the Commission directed Payasian to “immediately
cease and desist under pain of contempt from further engaging in, promoting and
facilitating selling and/or offering for sale securities in the form of investment contracts
and/or other activities/transactions.”
The SEC also prohibited Payasian from transacting any business involving funds in its
depository banks, and from transferring, disposing, or conveying in any manner all
related assets for the benefit of the investors.
The cease and desist order covers the corporation’s partners, operators, directors,
officers, salesmen agents, representatives, promoters, and all persons, conduit
entities and subsidiaries claiming and acting for and on its behalf.
Payasian registered as a corporation in August 2019. Its certificate of registration,
however, did not include an authority for the corporation to sell or offer securities to
the public, an activity that requires a secondary license from the SEC.
The Commission’s Markets and Securities Regulation Department (MSRD) and
Corporate Governance and Finance Department (CGFD) certified that Payasian has
not registered or applied for registration as issuer of securities and for a permit to sell
securities.
Yet, evidence gathered by the Commission’s Enforcement and Investor Protection
Department revealed that Payasian has engaged in the sale and offering of securities
in the form of investment contracts without the requisite license.
The SEC issued an advisory as early as November 14, 2019 for the public to exercise
caution in dealing with any individual or group soliciting investments for and on behalf
of Payasian.
Under its investment scheme, Payasian enticed investors to buy Paya Coins and hold
them for six months in order to receive 30% additional Paya Rewards. It also offered
referral rewards.

BHW PARTY-LIST APPEALS TO PRESIDENT DUTERTE FOR BARANGAY HEALTH WORKERS’ COVID-19 BENEFITS

President Rodrigo Duterte has been asked to include barangay health workers among the frontliners covered by the COVID-19 Special Risk Allowance in Republic Act 11460 or the Bayanihan To Heal As One Act.

BHW Party-list Rep. Angelica Natasha Co sent a letter dated March 27, 2020 to President Duterte containing her appeal.

Co also appealed for other compensation barangay health workers "who may contract severe COVID-19 infection while in the line of duty or who may die while fighting the COVID-19 pandemic."

She explained to the President that the BHW would not be covered by the RA 11460 compensation because the Magna Carta of Public Health Workers (RA 7305) does not include BHWs for the reason that there are volunteers.
