Fashion Trend / Accessorize your plain look
« on: July 09, 2007, 06:06:21 PM »
It's always nice to pull your hair down and show that 'shampoo lang yan' look as you sway. But with the Philippines' hot temperature, there are times we just need to brush our hair up or pull it to the back. You can still look great in this especially when you accessorize your plain look with earrings and shades.

Here are photo samples from the Queen.

Fashion Trend / The Right Hair Color for Your Skin Tone
« on: July 09, 2007, 05:09:41 PM »
People with cool complexions commonly have:

  • natural hair color that is blue-black, dark brown, medium ash, or golden blonde

  • pale skin with pink or no undertones

  • golden, olive, or dark skin

  • brown or bronze skin when tanned

  • brown or dark eyes

People with cool skin tones look best with hair colors such as intense brown, red, or blonde complimented by honey or ash highlights. Ash blondes and cool browns work best to neutralize skin and avoid ruddiness which can sometimes be highlighted by gold, auburn, and copper tones. While almost anyone can look good with the right shade of red, people with cool skin tones tend to pull it off best.

People with warm complexions commonly have:

  • natural hair color that is red, reddish or golden brown, deep brown, or strawberry blonde

  • pale skin with peach or golden undertones

  • brown skin with pink, golden, or copper undertones

  • golden brown tone when tanned

  • freckled skin

  • blue or green eyes

The best color base for people with warm skin is usually a rich and deep tone such as dark golden brown, chestnut, mahogany, or auburn. This may be complimented by red, cinnamon, or copper streaks. Golden shades such as caramel and bronze in a darker shade than your skin are also recommended and it’s best to avoid jet-black which can make you look washed out. Brassy blondes should also be avoided since they tend to look too harsh.

Fashion Trend / Hair Style for different Face Shapes
« on: July 09, 2007, 04:55:38 PM »
A woman's hair is considered as her crowning glory. So, woman, enhance your looks through your hairstyle. Here's sharing some tips I got from the net.

oval - Show Posts - queen
As its name implies, the Oval Shaped Face is longer than wide, with a jaw that's narrower than the cheekbones. Because the oval shaped face has no dominant areas and is so proportional, this face looks good with just about any hairstyle, length or texture.
round - Show Posts - queen

The Round Shaped Face is characterized by a wide hairline and fullness below the cheekbones. The woman may be overweight and the neck may appear short. These faces look very good with a geometric or linear style. Add height, when possible, and long, wispy side areas to make the cheeks look narrow. Comb hair close to the head on the sides and at the nape.
square - Show Posts - queen

The Square Shaped Face is characterized by a wide hairline and jaw. Square shaped faces need height on top and narrowness at the sides. Comb the hair off the forehead to add height to the face. Cury texture and wisps of hair around the face break the wide, straight lines common to the square face.
diamond - Show Posts - queen
The Diamond Shaped Face is characterized by a narrow chin and forehead with wide cheekbones. Diamond shaped faces need narrow sides and fullness at the chin. Bobs work very well for this shape. Avoid wearing height on top or volume on the sides. Use some fringe or bangs to cover narrow forehead.
heart - Show Posts - queen
The Heart Shaped Face is characterized by a wider forehead and a narrower chin. Bring some hair onto the forehead to disguise its width. Keep hair close to the head at the eyes, but make it slightly full around the jaw, and below and in front of the earlobes.
pear - Show Posts - queen
The Pear Shaped Face is characterized by a small or narrow forehead and a rather large pouchy-appearling jawline. Comb hair to add width from the eye level through the crown of the head. Set and comb hair close to the head on the sides and at the nape.
oblong - Show Posts - queen

The Oblong Shaped Face is characterized by a very long and narrow bone structure. The woman with an oblong facial shape often has a long, thin neck. Use a fringe or half-bang across the forehead by creating soft waves or curls in the crown and nape areas. This helps to create the illusion of an oval.

Question and Answer / When was your first kiss?
« on: July 09, 2007, 04:14:10 PM »
When was your first kiss? I was triggered to ask this question when one of our members, Barbaro, answered the Q, "How old were you when you had your first gf/bf" with something like this, "I kissed a girl twice when I was fourteen."

So now, here's another research up.

Answer guys! :-*

Due to incessant public clamor, Snowhite is hailed as Candidate # 1.

Facts and Trivia / The longest English word
« on: June 29, 2007, 09:23:31 PM »
Hey, y'all. A lil less than a year ago, my son (he was 8-yr old then) surprised me with this information:

The longest English word is "pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis."

He could write and speak the word like the speed of light. Gee!

Family & Parenting / Is it OK to make friends with your ex(es)?
« on: June 26, 2007, 04:56:57 PM »
Since the other two of the Triumvirate have gone missing for the past two weeks or so, I am inviting anyone to answer this question:

Is it OK to make friends with your ex(es)?

This is a very common scenario among celebrities. But for us Boholanos and Boholanas who are away from the limelight, is this a proper thing to do?

Philippine Daily News / Pinay pinatay sa sakal ng amo sa Qatar
« on: June 25, 2007, 02:12:25 PM »

Monday, June 25, 2007

(Joy Cantos)

Help & Support / Photos

I couldn't find where I posted the topic about photos so I'm starting a new one here.

Tubag Bohol's Administrator is as shocking as its members. I logged out for a few hours and look what I've got? My photo with my best buddies in Bangkok, Janet and Diane, is invading the Tarsier and Chocolate Hills spot right here on top of Tubag Bohol's homepage. Good thing, it was clearly said that it'll disappear in 24 hours.

Mike, it's not  that I don't want my photo flashed everywhere in Tubag Bohol because I'd gladly enjoy the ad. Haha! It's just that the photo doesn't give justice to Thailand's Rose. I was so 8 kilos over when the shot was taken. Huhuhu.

Question and Answer / Could it be true that first love never dies?
« on: June 22, 2007, 01:26:56 PM »
Could it be true that first love never dies?

I have no second love. Only first. My husband. I want to know if it will never really die.

But hey, don't get me wrong. I had few occasions of coming close to love before finding the first and true one at age 20.

Music and Video / The Wonder of You
« on: June 20, 2007, 06:13:17 PM »
Heavy with all the romanticism, the renaissance, the classical brouhahas in me, I can’t figure out why I love this very simple and literal lyrics of Elvis Presley’s “THE WONDER OF YOU”. I’ve always asked my boyfriend (now husband) to sing this song for me back to back with the choir’s “How did you know” while I walk down the isle. Obviously, he never agreed to it because he could already surmise how he would wreck with nervousness on our wedding day. And so I begged him to sing for me instead at the reception. I got a big N-O once again. That no-singing stint of Prince Paul of course did not mar any bit of the marriage. With our 9 solid years together, he sings this song to me once in a while and that suffices what I missed for my wedding. I’d like to share to you all the very moving lyrics of the song.

When no one else can understand me

When everything I do is wrong

You give me hope and consolation

You give me strength to carry on

And you're always there to lend a hand

In everything I do

That's the wonder

The wonder of you

And when you smile the world is brighter

You touch my hand and I'm a king

Your kiss to me is worth a fortune

Your love for me is everything

I'll guess I'll never know the reason why

You love me like you do

That's the wonder

The wonder of you
